Does anyone have experience with this?
I have a Sony Mini-DVD Handycam. It records onto miniature DVDs that, once finalized, can be played on most (not all) DVD players. I have mastered the art of copying those mini-DVDs onto regular DVDs, but I have yet to fiddle with any 'movie making/editing' software.
I recently installed the Image Mixer software that came with the camcorder, but it's less than intuitive and remains a challenge. Further, it seems the video segments removed from the mini-dvd all need to be converted to movie format.
At one point, I got the brilliant idea to put some smaller video clips onto my iPod, like a video podcast. I believe I had to 'convert' the file format twice before I could import the file into iTunes, then another conversion (took about 45 minutes for a 6 minute piece of video) in order to be able to put it on my iPod. Naturally when I played the clip on my iPod, there was no longer any sound
though the video portion looked hi-res and professional.
I have done some googling on video conversion software, but I'm still a bit perplexed. Does anyone have any experience (good or bad) with this? Any software suggestions?
Thank you!
