Hi, i'm looking to buy a digital camera, but am looking for some advice.

I would like a 3mega Pixel camera and preferably a 3x optical zoom for £160 or less.

The two i have found which seem quite good are the Kodak DX6340 and the Olympus C-350 zoom.

The cheapest i have found them are £160 for the Kodak and £145 for the Olympus.

Anyone had any experience with these models or brands?

Thanks

Stal,
Can't help with those particular models, but DH has had a Kodak for about 4 years. It is 2 mllion mega pixels and has been reliable and is very rugged - has been dropped from 10 feet and still works!! It's showing its age now as technology has moved on fast, but all in all has been a good camera and is easy to use.

There's a cable channel here in the states called TechTV. I know they've recently rated some of the new digicams. Go to the website and do a search. Maybe something will pop up. I think PC magazine does a best products of the year thing. Try them too.

I would suggest you go into a news agents and buy a magazine dedicated to digital camera.

All do good reviews and some have a review section of all reviews they have done at the back.

This technology moves sooo fast you can not keep up with it. I am on my 2nd digital camera and always buy a few mags first to help make my choice as some are much better than others even in the same price range.

Hi, hubby and I bought the Olympus C350 about a month back and we love it, it's so easy to use and it takes wonderful piccies. We bought ours from Amazon for about £139. Well worth the money. They also seem to be cheapest for memory cards. We bought a 128mb for £37.90 from Amazon and the cheapest we'd seen it elsewhere was over £50. Well worth buying. Good luck with it.
