Has anyone had this problem? We ( me, DW, DS9, DS6, DS3, DD1) are going to be at Disney World the week before President's Week and have all of our dining reservations set. Over the weekend, my father-in-law surprised us and announced he is coming with us! We are really happy; However, when we tried to add him to our dining reservations (which includes Cinderella's Royal Table for lunch and The Brown Derby dinner with Fantasmic entrance) WDW Dine stated that they couldn't accommodate the 1 person addition.:confused3 Has anybody dealt with this? Do we just show up and see if the restaurants can accommodate us? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!:worship:

Hi, last April I added my DD for part of our vacation. This changed our ressie from 3 to 4 & we had no problems doing it. Probably not a big deal because we would've been seated at a table for 4 anyway. If you're adding a person & need a bigger table - maybe that causes a problem. I hope you're able to work things out. Good luck & have a great trip!

This is not uncommon and happens frequently. My suggestion keep trying between now and then to add him.If you just show up be aware they are under absolutely no obligation to seat you.It will be up to the sole discretion of the restauarant mgr and the podium Cm cehcking you in whether or no they can accomodate you. They may tell you no problem and seat you right away, they may tell you no problem ,but you need to wait extra time for a table that size to become available, or they may tell you they can't accomodate you ...which happens usually at the more popular ,smaller restaurants( like Le Cellier ), during free dining, and during peak times like summer, and presidents weekend when the parks are really busy. Most of the time they will allow it but you may be waiting past your adr time for a table.

I've been in this situation and when we showed up at each restaurant we just gave the accurate number and we were fine. I think as long as you aren't adding a ton of people, just one or two, they just seat you without question.

IF they can. At a restaurant like CRT, which is crazy busy, it may not be possible. Also, with that being a prepaid meal, I'm not sure how they would handle an extra person.

I think going from 6 to 7 people would change your table size, which is what would cause the problem. Going from 3 to 4 as karen did wouldn't have the same problem.

The reason that they can't add one person is because the dining reservations system is deisgned to use certain size tables based on the layout of the restuarant, so we have 2T (2 person) 4T (four), 5T, 6T, 8T, and sometimes 10T that do not have to be booked by large parties dining. So since you have 6, you would have to be moved to an 8T, one of the hardest restuarant tables to get, and probably unavailable at most of the restuarants by now. But don't fear, just b/c dining can't do it doesn't mean you can't walk up with on extra person. The only one that might be hard to walk up to would be CRT b/c of the pre-paid but you should have no issues otherwise. I don't think you will have much issue at Brown Derby, they have a lot of large tables. Volunteering at check-in to use two tables that are close together (like back to back, etc.) may also help your case. I would also suggest going to an actual guest relations (not conceirge at hotel, unless you are a conceirge guest) at a park or DTD as they are often more willing to book people in "creative" ways that regular dining cast members are asked not to do.

You can also try making him his own reservations as close in time as yours to possible, and if that works when you arrive request to be seated together.
