Im not sure if anyone would actually know the answer to this question, I'm sorta being a pain....

I want magic morning tickets

I have a GAD voucher

the plan was to upgrade the GAD to Deluxe season passes but then I don't get the MM

Does anyone know if I can take my vouchers, upgrade them to 2 day tickets so I can get my MM, and then upgrade my 2 days to season passes later in our trip and still do the southern california monthly payment plan?

I realize Im really being a pain....

You have to buy 3 day tickets to get a MM. Not sure what you want to do will work or not.... but you could always just stay in a Disney hotel, then you automatically get MM's regardless of what type of ticket you have! :thumbsup2

I meant a 3 day actually, it doesn't matter how many days, we are still upgrading to the AP, I just didn't know how it effected paying monthly. I think Im overthinking this and making it more difficult then it needs to be. lol I have a tendency to do that.

I just have to ask...what do you mean by MM, magic morning??? Do you mean extra magic hours????

Buy a 3 day PH. (Get MM)
Use your 3 day PH (and your MM).
On day 3, before the end of the day, upgrade to an AP, using GAD voucher

AP Cost = Cost of 3 day PH minus GAD voucher value

EMHs are at WDW. At DL, they are Magic Mornings. :goodvibes From disneyland.com: "Magic Morning admission allows admission into selected attractions at a designated Disneyland® Resort Theme Park before the Park opens to the general public on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday."

Someone posted recently that they were not allowed to do this, the CM wouldn't let them combine both the voucher and parkhopper to upgrade. I have also read that a couple of people WERE allowed to do it this way.

We want to do the same thing later this year and my thought was to purchase the 3 day parkhopper using the GAD voucher. Then upgrading the hopper to the annual pass.

This is from the FAQ on the site:

May I upgrade my free one day ticket to an Annual Pass or multi-day ticket?

Yes, you may upgrade the free ticket to another ticket type of greater value within the applicable upgrade window. However, you are responsible for the incremental cost and the new ticket may only be used by you. No changes or refunds will be given. The value of the free ticket may not be used to combine or upgrade with a separate single or multi-day ticket.

You can upgrade your GAD voucher to the 3 day PH (with MM), then upgrade the PH to a DAP.

That is correct. I THINK you can still do the payment plan with that as well, but since I'm non-local I don't know for absolutely certain

You cannot do the upgrade or use the voucher and still do the payment plan. I called them and asked about this since I wanted to use the voucher toward the payment plan. We have to use the voucher towards the purchase of the AP at the park and cannot make payments so I am setting aside money until our trip (basically making payments to myself).

Put if you upgrade to the PH and then the AP, they may consider what you already paid out to upgrade to the PH as your down payment for the payment plan. I can understand not letting you use the GAD as a down payment since you aren't actually putting any money out.

If they allow you to start making payments at the park, then maybe, but the CM I spoke to said no so that is what I am planning for.

Id better call Disney tomorrow to figure out what we are doing so I know before we get there. I dont want to waste time with it at the gate.

Your profile says NorCal?...payment plans are for SoCal residents only.

I do know SoCal residents can buy an AP on a payment plan in the park, so I'm confused by your statement.

Right - that's what I was saying. I was responding to Dreams post about upgrading both the parkhopper and GAD to the AP. I was just saying that I didn't know if this would work according to the website and what previous posters have said. :goodvibes

We did this just last Friday....

Had our GAD voucher.

Bought 3 day hoppers at local grocery store.

Used MM.

Then went to the ticket booth to redeem GAD voucher. Told them we wanted to upgrade our 3 day hopper to DAP and use GAD voucher too.

It wasn't a problem. The gal at the ticket booth did have to confirm with her supervisor, but it was approved no problem.

I did call before we went to verify we could do this...because I too wanted a MM.

It is the same price to Disney...but you get the Magic Morning.

Good luck.

All people can use the payment plan option, the SoCal people just get lower monthly payments is all.

Unless something really big has changed, only so cal residents can take part in the payment plan option. It's really peeved no cal residents since it started.

From their site:

"Did you know a Monthly Payments option is available online? Find out how Southern California residents* can take advantage of the flexibility of monthly payments — with no finance charge — when purchasing or renewing an Annual Passport online or by mail"

"* Passport purchaser must live in Southern California within zip code areas 90000-93599 and make a down payment that's the cost of a one-day ticket."

From their FAQ about monthly payments:

"I don't live in Southern California. Can I sign up for Monthly Payments?
Unfortunately, no. The Monthly Payments option is currently only available to residents of zip codes 90000-93599."

I think the CM you spoke to is really very confused.

Now there was a short time when Leads were overriding the system and letting No Cal residents get the monthly payment option. But several months ago all of those people were sent letters letting them know that they could not continue it. Those people ended up being lucky, because their APs were NOT cancelled, but their monthly payments were, but unless/until something changes, they aren't going to be allowed to get a new AP with the payment plan.

Kayla's Mom quoted the FAQ from disneyland's site, stating that you can't combine the voucher and a previously purchased ticket to upgrade. So I'd stick with that, because frankly my luck in getting "pixie dust" is really low at Disneyland.

But you should definitely be able to use the voucher to upgrade to a 3 day ticket, use the MM, and upgrade that to an AP.

According to the websites FAQ, only SoCal residents can get the monthly payments.

Ok, you are right. I was looking at the "New passholder" section and was not reading the fine print :P It doesn't really matter at this point though since I had planned on using the GAD to go toward's the price at the gate. Thanks for clearing that up. I can be a bit ditzy at times.
