Different UY

I currently have one membership number and under it there are three contracts all with the same UY and displayed as x.0, x.1, and x.2 where x is the contract number.

I've just bought a contract with a different UY, how will this new contract show up online, assuming that the names on the contracts are the same?

Would it just be under the same membership number, but then be called contract y.0 ?

Thanks

You will have a separate member number, and I'm pretty sure you will need to create a separate user name to log into the member site to access this contract.

I was wondering something similar today. I know I will have a 2nd membership number with my new, different use year contract, but wasn't sure if I needed two log-ins for the website. I did a quick search and saw this thread from April of this year:

Disneynutz (Bill) mentions one log-in ID. Can Bill or anyone elaborate?

We currently have 3 different membership #s with different Use Years and 2 different resorts and are able to see them all on the same page under our login on the member's site. At one time we had 4 different Use Years and 4 different Member #s and all 4 were still on the same page on the member site.

With different Use Years, as long as the contracts are titled the same, you should be able to view all under the same website login. If they are titled differently you may need to have different member site logins.

the cool thing about having two member numbers (from what I hear) is that you now have 2 transfers in/out per UY (one for each member number). That's less renting you have to do if you can just sell/transfer points out.

This is how our first 2 contracts with different UYs have been BUT we just had our third contract with a another different UY added today and it actually shows up with our first contract.

Maybe it's possible now to have them all show up with the same log in. :confused3 Someday I'll call and ask. It would be nice.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping it would be. Saves me from having to call in to see when/if my new points are added to my membership.

We have 2 UY's, (I didn't know better when I was a newbie), both show up under 1 login and online booking has a pull down to select which UY to use.

I know what you mean....I made the same mistake and I ended up with three use years. I've never been a good juggler  so I sold off one UY. But yes...Same here...one login, several contracts on multiple use years, multiple resorts with a drop down to select which member number.

Like others have said, I also have multiple use years at different resorts that are both available under one login. When making a reservation I just need to select from a drop down menu which contract I am using. Personally, I like the fact that they are separate as it makes it easier to track.

I wouldn't operate on that theory, I've seen people explain here that each member is allowed one transfer in or out per year, no one for each member number.

Nope, its safe to operate on the multiple transfer theory, because you have multiple memberships and each membership is allowed either one in or one out.

Unfortunately I always seem to need more points so I've only done transfers in but for 2011 UY I did two transfers in to both my June UY membership and my Oct UY membership, no problems. If I had two contracts on a single membership they would not have let me do that.

And yes, to confirm what others have said, they both appear online with the drop down menu to select which membership's points I would like to use for that reservation.

I guess it depends on how you interpret the rules and who is actually doing the transfer.

From the rules and regulations: "During a given Use Year, only one (1) Transfer per Club Member or Club membership, either as Transferee or Transferor, will be permitted".

But if you want to transfer between your own contracts, that counts as both of your transfers (though some have reported MS making exceptions to the 1 transfer rule if they're both your own contracts).

I do not know how member services works this out. My situation is as follows:
First purchase - OKW 250 Sep UY me, wife, youngest son and daughter-in-law
Second Purchase - BWV 150 Aug UY me and wife
Third and fourth - BWV 50 each Aug UY me and wife
Fifth purchase - OKW 150 Oct UY (from oldest son)
Sixth purchase - AKV 150 Sep UY me, wife, youngest son and daughter-in-law

This resulted in 3 memberships. One for purchase one and six , one for purchase two, three and four, and one for purchase five. All except purchase five where through Disney. Purchase five was direct with son. I can see all points in one login except purchase five. Had to create a seperate login for it.

Three use years, three membership numbers, TWO logins

Was told cannot combine them all into one login. Go figure.
