Different room categories, same stay, any chance of requesting a downgrade?

I’ve got a one week trip booked in February at BLT. Because of availability I had to stitch together 4 nights in a 1 bedroom standard view, followed by 2 nights in a 1 bedroom lake view, followed by 1 night in a 1 bedroom theme park view. I would really like to not have to change rooms and don’t give a hoot about the view. Is there any way I could request a “downgrade” to the lowest view room for the second and third legs of the trip so I don’t have to change rooms?

Edit: Not requesting any kind of point refund, just the physical room.

Standard views rooms at BLT are usually hardest to get. Lake views are the most common. You can ask the front desk if they can try, but it's no guarantee. Easier to switch the whole stay to lake view.
I think I'd opt for SSR rather than switch twice in a week like that...my feelings. I booked lake view in April and want to extend it using my SSR points at 7 month window. but if I can't, I plan to switch the whole reservation to SSR.

Tried at BWV twice to downgrade one of our rooms (said not even to give points credit). Nope. Also tried at BLT and no.

They might accommodate since they wont have to clean rooms , etc. You should ask when you check in But it seems like they prefer to keep everybody at a distance aka-using online technology, Magicbands, etc… The front desk really doesn’t want to be approached almost and I don’t blame them…the guy in front of me at Bank yesterday No mask and obviously runny nose , gross and went o the teller and sneezed loud and all over her screen! I refused to go to that teller when it was my turn… It was disgusting…
P.S. The local bank in Celebration Town Center does not have a drive thru…

If the rooms could not be booked, it means they are full. All you can do is keep stalking and waitlist to end up with the same room type. Best case is to switch SV to LV.

But, other than that, they can’t move you to a different room type. February is a long way off so you could have luck. Id waitlist the TPV to LV first and then slowly try to get the other nights changed.

The reason you had to stitch your stay together is because others have the other categories booked and because DVC runs at close to 100% occupancy they would likely have problems accommodating your request.
But, Feb. is over 5 months away, put in wait lists to replace your 2 night lake & 1 night theme park w/ standard view & then stalk the RAT several times a day & grab any night that pops up & gets you more of your standard view.
Usually lake view would be easier to grab, but since you already have 4 nights in standard I’d focus on that unless a lake view pops up w/ more nights.
Oops - looks like I posted simultaneously w/ Sandisw & similar advice lol.

CMs are always available at the front desk so don’t think that’s an issue. Its that DVC is booked up near 100% most of time so it’s almost impossible
