I’m not new to DCL, but I almost never sail with another party. We have an 11:15 PAT with Boarding Group 5. Our friends have 12:00 PAT and Group 10. Does anyone know if they will be allowed to arrive and/or board with us?

Thanks!
Jason

Based on many posts here, results will vary. Some were let through. Others were made to wait for the latest PAT in the group. That's what you should plan for.

Generally, no. Usually they will ask you to wait and board with the latter group. That said, there isn't going to be a huge amount of difference. Assuming this is Port Canaveral, boarding will get underway around 11:45 and once they start calling groups, they generally call one every 2-5 minutes so if you all arrive at noon, go through check in and security in about 15-30 minutes, chances are good that you'll be getting on the ship together at boarding group 10 very soon thereafter around 12:15-12:30.

In the past year, we have had on three occasions two staterooms with different PAT. In all cases, we arrived and were able to board with the earlier PAT.

When traveling with our family, 3 cabins, we were told that we had to wait for the last boarding number. now that you have to line up in a PAT line before getting into the terminal, it will be up to that CM. For us, we had a 11am pat. The latest one was 11:45am, so we arrived at the port at 11:30am just so our times would align. For our actual boarding numbers, we were 2, 4, 6. We all boarded at the 6.

Like others have said, you should plan to have to wait until the later boarding group if you want to board together. Or you can board first and use that time to visit with guest services if you have anything you need to attend to - instead of taking that time away from your together time with your friends - or you could always stake out a spot up on the pool deck and the others can meet you there once they board. :)
