I know this thread has been posted before, but couldn't find it and the search has been down all day. Any new ideas out there? I am starting to put things aside and want to think of something really amazing to bring!!!

Good Morning BD! I see your quick wit is sharp as ever in the early morning hours! However, you only covered the male employees!! :smooth:

Thanks Suzanne for the info. I was planning on phone cards from Sams, but will have to put more thought into special gifts from home. I know I have told you this before, but I just adore that photo. Your daughter looks like a little angel!

Two words: Lottery tickets!
We take Happy Limo to the port, so we do a grocery stop at a convenience store on the way and buy some tickets. Then we slip them into thank-you cards that we leave at Guest Services. That way, they have the fun of scratching and a chance to win some $$.

I second phone cards...I always give them as extras.. and on a past cruise I gave one to a lady would I would always see cleaning the atrium/beatstreet area. She was so sweet and would always stop and say hello and smiled and asked if I was having fun. She worked so hard, and always had a smile on her face. Stopped her one day and gave it to her and thanked her for her hard work keeping the ship beautiful for us. She got teary-eyed and gave me a hug. It was worth the few bucks I spent on the card just to make her day.

What a sweet gesture! I agree that everyone on those ships works hard and deserves a little Disney magic spread their way!

I agree that the phone cards are the way to thank staff. As I cruise more and more, I see more and more familiar faces. Give a thank you note and phone card or just a hug and a good bye, is a good idea. I spoke to several CMs at the end of my last cruise and they seemed to appreciate the goodbyes and thank yous!

DisneyGator, I know what you mean. We do phone cards, too, and a couple of cruises ago I gave a card to our stateroom host and also to the hostess down the hall. Even though she didn't service our room, she was always so sweet and pleasant.

What a wonderful gesture! I wish I had thought of it! There were two CM's on my cruise I would have liked to thank like that. Baxter, in Guest Services, chatted with me every morning at 5AM when I was stumbling around with my very awake DD. Also, similar to your story, there was a CM cleaning the railings and such every morning. She was very friendly and sweet--so nice to encounter at 5 AM! I think her name was Dana? (Croatia? Romania? I wish I could remember.) If I ever have the good fortune to cruise again (DH just lost his job on Monday. It may be a while.:( ) I will definitely do this!

We are having our very first Sam's Club opening this thursday and guess what my first purchase will be?

Phone Cards!

Thanks guys!
