So Im dense but what are the different types of food plans?
Atkins - no or low cholesterol?
What exactly is Weight Watchers? What do they lower/take out?
What other plans do we usually talk about alot?
Is there a name for lower sodium/fat?

Atkins is low/controlled carb. You're right - it does help to lower your cholesterol as well! :)

Atkins is a low carb/ higher fat plan ---- that actually burns more fat/cholesterol than many low fat plans. You have to understand how eating lower carb works to understand 'why' it burns the fat/cholesterol.

PLUS by eating this way you eat way more 'natural/unprocessed' foods. No need to worry about too much sodium, etc from burgers, fish and chicken.

I have many links on my webpage that will answer the many questions of low carb eating. Feel free to check them out!
:D

Weight Watchers is a plan where foods are assigned a point value based on their calorie, fiber and fat content. You are allowed to eat X number of points per day. The number of points you get is determined by your weight. If you don't use all of your points in a day, you can "bank" them to use later in the week if you want to (for example, you might be planning to eat out). I think you can also earn additional points by exercising, but I've only been on the program 2 weeks and I'm not sure.

Check the threads at the top of the page for some good WW recipes!

Weight Watchers doesn't take out anything. Its all about portion control. There are no off limit foods. You just have to learn to set limits. Its always a struggle but I know its good for me to eat this way.
