Different deals per country

Hi all, first time posting on this board (have visited Disneyland California many times and WDW twice but never DLP!).

We're looking at booking a trip at the end of January/beginning of February for between 4-6 nights (depending on the prices). I seem to be finding different deals depending on which country I select (I've tried France, UK, Ireland, US, Netherlands...so many options!). Right now the best deal I can find seems to be either Ireland or Canada (international booking website): 40% off minimum 4 night/5 day package.

My question is twofold: one, is this the best deal I'm going to find for my trip (or do they usually release better deals closer to the date?) and two, can I book my trip through any country's website (I'm not from Ireland so will that make a difference?).

Thanks so much for your help, this is a totally different Disney experience and we can't wait!

yes, you can. I've done it myself. I booked via Irish site and I'm not from Ireland.

Thanks!

Anyone have ideas about discounted prices? It's a bit of a spur of the moment trip (usually we plan our Disney trips a year plus in advance) so being this close (3.5 months) is bizarre! But a good bizarre... much fewer days to count down!

Don't book yet, the last offer is nearly over so maybe a flash sale will happen - word of warning the prices may go up ! It's called Disney chicken I believe! :rotfl2:

Can anyone remember if the flash sales covered three months down the road? If so I might be inclined to wait but to be honest OP if you have a price which you are happy with I would book now and then keep an eye on the website, you can always upgrade or modify your booking if a better deal came up.

I am also interested if Flash Sale icluded 4nights/5days stays, because I only could remember I got 3 nights, but don't remember if that was because I decided to go for 3 nights or the 4 nights stays weren't available during FS.
And it could be better to go with 30%-40% offer.

What kind of promo does the flash sale usually include? Is it a discount or a number of nights free? Or does it change? We've been lucky enough before to get a free dining plan for WDW, does this ever happen for DLP?

Thanks for all the help! We are so looking forward to our first trip!

If you book on another country's site, does the price show up in that country's currency, leaving you to manually figure out the exchange rate and pay the foreign conversion fee when paying with a credit card? Just trying to figure out if the savings is that large enough to definitely cover that aspect if that is the case?

There is occasionally all your meals for free offers. I am also playing Disney Chicken and I am also hoping to book free meals - They had it last winter on selected dates/hotels, and they had it for a few dates in the late summer. I booked our last trip on 40% off and then a few weeks after they had free meals on our date and at our hotel, frustrating because they wouldn't let me change the offer!
I am not sure on the conversion, but the irish price was approx £200 cheaper than on the UK site for me, so it would definately be worth it to book even with the exchange rate. Lets hope another good offer comes along soon!
Good luck!

If the country uses Euros it's all the same but not for others, eg sterling on UK site. You can google amounts to get a rough guide.

DLP Chicken is a game that is played by a few of us on this forum :rotfl2:

Some times you win some times you loose. But the prize is always the same - a trip to the magic whether you win, loose or draw.

Yes, I am a Disney Chicken player myself but gave in last night and booked HNY for 4 nights with 40 percent off. I'm Irish and booked on the Irish site which seemed to be the only site still doing the 40 percent off offer. I spent all day yesterday trying to decide whether to hang on and see if they did the free meals offer that I got 3 years ago with HNY but the price I paid 3 years ago was a good bit higher than what I paid yesterday so I'm hoping that even if they bring in free meals the price might go up a bit and make me feel a bit better about missing it!

Anyway not having meal vouchers means we will go to Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood this time which we haven't done the last 2 trips because of the free meals.

These are the chances you take! Oh and I just checked the Irish website and the 40 percent offer is still on today (it said book by Oct 15th so I wasn't sure if that meant it finished on the 14th). I will be afraid to look in the next few days to see what offer is on

I would like free full board dining offer too. We had it in 2009 and it was great as we are doing buffets restaurants only.

However I can't remember what was the price I paid.
The savings were really good.

4 days, 2 adults and 1 child (DD2 was under 2 then so the meal was free to her) 24 Euro x 2 (average buffet price) and 13 Euro for the child I guess. So 61 EUR per day.

To answer your questions: yes, yes and yes. I booked through the UK site last time I booked and the conversion fee was about $20 but the savings over the American site was about $400 if I recall correctly. Well worth it.

We're Americans, living in Germany and we booked via the French site...the price was in € and we just figured up the exchange rate...and it was MUCH cheaper than any other site we checked (US, UK, Germany...the French site was cheap by several hundred Euro) didn't bother to use a no fee credit card, as with something that price, we'd prefer to pay the minimal international fee (I believe it was about $45 total) and accrue Disney points on our card instead.

Good Luck in your booking! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the replies! Officially playing chicken... and it's Disney's turn! Fingers crossed for a flash sale, if not well then that was a gamble we were willing to make. No matter what we'll end up at the happiest place of earth and we'll be beyond happy :)
