I was wondering if anyone has stayed in one of the POR rooms that has already been renovated. I haven't heard or seen anything about any changes. I'm wondering if the decor stayed exactly the same or not.

I remeber when POFQ reopened there was such a buzz about how wonderful the rooms looked and the little improvements that had been made. I was expecting to hear the same type of reaction on the POR rooms, but there hasn't been anything! Can someone fill me in?

I'm with you Melissa! We've requested Magnolia Terrace in Nov. and would love to hear or see any info on the new renovations::yes::

I am not sure if they renovated since I came back or not but I was in the AB section last December (not quite a year ago) and I can tell you about what I had.

I had 2 doubles with a trundle and there was an armour for the TV with drawers, table and chairs. A cushioned bench type thing next to the TV armour with hooks above it to hang coats on or whatnot.

2 pedistal sinks, each with their own mirror that had a "log" looking frame to them. Also the beds looked like they were made out of logs, - the bed frames. Under the mirrors above the sinks was another flat "log" that could be used as a shelf.

The curtains had a US map on them with like a Davey crocket Mickey and friends scattered throughout.

Bathroom was pretty standard, had a theme shower curtain but I can't remember what now.

Hope this helps some. I do have pictures of it but don't know how to display them here.

we were just in alligator bayou building 34 we were the ist poeple to sleepp in our room their was a new patchwork quilt comfortors slate grey tile on teh floors in bathroom new curtain to seperate bathrooms curtains on waal were blue patchwork macthed the bed if i rememebr right all newe matterss oillows etc.... it looked great we really enjoyed it... Only problem was the pillows were tooo thick/fluffy and ia m nto joking they gave you a stiff neck enjoy

I am going to bump this for the mansions decor update...
Did anyone take photos of the new rooms?

i stayed there last month, the rooms were perfect, just like new, i've stayed there 6 times now, and it has always been impeccable.......

Oooh, I'll bump this too, because I would like to know as well...

Could there be a newly renovated room awaiting me???

;)

Did you notice if there seemed to be other buildings still under upgrades/rennovations? BTW, how'd you know you were the first ones to sleep in your room?

..and stayed in Magnolia Terrace. Everything seemed brand new, even the bedding. It was lovely.

We stayed here two nights this past August. We were in building 80 and our housekeeper asked us if we liked the new decor. The rooms were very nice and spotless. We had stayed many years ago in the Bayou section and this was definitely different. Our friends stayed in the Bayou section the same time we did this August and she said they had not done those sections yet. We did notice truck after truck with new mattresses :D all over the resort.

We stayed in a newly renovated room in August. It had 2 beds, 2 pedestal sinks, a bench, and an armoire to store the television. The beds were high and little hard for me to get into, somedays I regressed back to being a kid and took a running leap for the bed :teeth: I have to say the bedding was beautiful, it made me feel like I was back in victorian times and helped to keep the theming of the mansion section.

Did you see any hidden Mickey's in the new bedcover in the mansion buildings? What design/theme is on them?

I was wondering if the AB section is still dark and are the beds made with logs? I was hoping they would also change the sinks and mirrors. I want stay there again, I like the property, pool area, food court but not the AB rooms. We have 5, so we have to stay in AB.

Does anyone know where we can see pictures of the newly renovated rooms? I've seen some pictures of the AB rooms (not sure if they are new) but I haven't seen any of the inside of the Mansion rooms. We are trying to decide whether to stay in the AB or Mansions 10/13.

Thanks for your help.

Jeanne

I'm reasonably sure the pics on Deb's site are from before the recent renovations. Feel free to correct me if you know differently, but I've been looking at those pics since long before the newest renovations!

I agree with lindamg. The pics on Deb's website are before the renovations.

We are trying to decide where to stay in February. In 2002 we stayed in AB and wanted to stay at the mansions this time. We really liked the quietness of the Bayou section and our building away from the lobby/restaurant. The only drawback were that the Bayou rooms were a little dark so if they have changed the decor, we might stick with what we like!

If anybody has some new pictures of POR I'd love to see them!

Just had laser surgery on my eyes Friday and love love love it!! :earseek:

We've stayed at POR twice, both times in the mansions section. I just wanted to say that it never seemed noisy to me. :D
