We are planning our 1st trip to DLR. Originally we were planning to go the week after Thanksgiving as I really want to see the Christmas decorations, but since my older ds will be in 11th grade we don't want to pull him out of school.
Therefore we are looking at either the last week of June or the last week of July 2015. This will also give us more time to enjoy ourselves instead of feeling rushed as my kids want to go to the beach and Hollywood too ;)

Can anyone share what the main differences might be in regards to temps, crowds and cost?

Also can anyone recommend a nice hotel that has a large suite with kitchen or micro./fridge or where we can book 2 adjoining rooms for our family of 5, me, hubby and 3 kids ages 16, 12 and 8.
We will be on a pretty tight budget.

We are looking at doing a program through the Disney individual YES programs, as we have done them in the past at WDW and my kids really enjoyed them. Anyone done one at DLR?

Weather can de unpredictable, but generally July is hotter. You could be talking about the difference between 94 and 15% humidity and 98 and 20%. It really depends on the year.

As far as crowds, they will be high all summer due to the 60th and there's really no avoiding it. You'll have more people in June trying to see the 60th as soon as they can and trying to avoid the additional July crowds.

A lot of people have probably already booked rooms too. You should check all your list items, room cost, airfare, YES availability and pick the week that fits best based on those factors.

YES is still open for either week, but what concerns me is that they do not confirm the class until 3 weeks beforehand. What if I buy airfare and the cancel the class??? Does that happen often at DLR?
Can not book airfare yet as we are not sure we are def. flying, we may actually drive out from PA! We drive to FL every year so it might be a fun thing to try.

As far as rooms go I was just looking for any suggestions as there are so many to choose from. I was thinking of booking them now, as long as I can find one that i can cancel if need be due to dates changing. last year my 15 y.o. ds made the Baseball All Star game for his league and it was near the middle of June, but they do change the date sometimes.

Temp. wise we have been to WDW in FL in June and here in the Lehigh valley in PA the summer temps are mid 90's so we are used to the heat, heck sometimes it is hotter where we live then it is in Orlando ;)

YES is frequently canceled at DLR, it is not very popular or well known. Most people I know who have done it successfully have taken a school or scouting group during the school year and their group met the minimum to hold the class.
