Differences between 7 night and 4 cruise??

Hi everyone:

I've been reading a lot of different threads and am starting to realize that there are a lot of things that aren't done on the shorter cruises. Can someone please list the differences for me? I'd like to see it all in one place so I can decide whether to change to a 7-night cruise, or just keep the 4-night plus some days at Disney World afterwards.

So far, I think that I've read that there's no formal night, or Character Breakfast, or Tea with Wendy on the shorter cruises.

What are the other differences?? What else do we miss on the shorter cruises??

Thanks!

To the best of my recollection the things you will find on the 7 day that you won't find on the 4 day:

Palo Brunch
Palo High Tea
Tea With Wendy
Tropical/Mexical Night (but you will have a deck party)
DVC Members Reception
DVC Info meetings
Formal Night/Semi-Formal Night
Character Breakfast
Full Day at Sea (some 4-days go to Freeport instead)
Gala Late-night Dessert Buffet

What you will find on the 4 day that you won't find on the 7 day:
Ladies night at the spa
An easy place to gamble (Atlantis - tho if you go Eastern there are casinos in St. Martin, but not like Atlantis)

Also the ports visited on either of the 7 days are better, in my opinion, than Nassau.

Hope this helps.

I would definitely have to agree with this statement, WDWLVR!

We find ourselves using the 4-days to do a combo WDW-DCL trip and taking advantage of all rest and relaxation opportunities onboard. On the 7-day we tend to be more active in excursions and activities.

Also, on the 3 & 4 day they don't seem to offer the "navigator" or "art of entertaining" sessions and these sound interesting.

The difference? It's three days longer, of course!

Seriously, I think WDWLVR covered most of the differences. Of course, there are more shows, adding a Welcome Aboard Variety show and a Farewell Show, aside from a movie night. Obviously the late shows in Route 66 must have more to offer. I know on the 7-day there were always shows by the performeres in the afforementioned Welcome Aboard and Farewell Variety Shows.

You also add the specialty dinners - Captain's Gala, It's A Small World and Tropicali/Mexicalifragilistic nights.

Do the shorter cruises have a Castaway Club party?

We attended the Castaway Club reception during our four-night in Dec, 2002 cruise, and actually got a chance to chat with the Captain for a minute. My father-in-law was thrilled! We also spent a few minutes with Cruise Director Rick, who remembered us from a conversation we had with him on our previous cruise. It was a lot of fun.
