OK, I think I've decided on a Disney Cruise. Now to decide on the length of the cruise. There are 6 of us and we'd be getting 2 rooms. My thinking is that one of the rooms would be an inside cabin and the other an outside, across the hall, either with the veranda or at least a porthole (my kids will be 7, 13, 16, and 19 and the older 3 are old enough to share a room that is not connecting). Does anyone know the difference in cost between the 7 day and 4 day cruise? It would be during the summer, but not until summer 2007 and I know that those prices are not even out yet. I know that the price difference woould be approximate, but I'm just hoping to get a ballpark idea

Do you think that I could contact Dreams Unlimited and they could give me info based on what it would be for 2006. I don't want to lead them on and have them think that I'm planning on booking for 2006, but I do want to make some decisions so when the 2007 bookings open up I'll already know what I want and can then proceed with booking it.

Does any of this even make sense??? I have so much to learn!

I am sure that DU would be happy to get you some quotes that would help you with your decisions when the prices come out, just make sure they know ahead of time why you are wanting the information and what your plans are. You could actually probably get a ball park price difference from the web site directly for a random date in the summer of 2006 for both a 4 and 7 day. Seems like whe I looked into ours that it basically came down to the same amount "per night per person" for both cruises, just a matter of whether you wanted to pay for the additional nights! HTH

Check out this website for some current prices for 2006 so you can get an idea...they list all the different itineraries so you can compare 4 to 7 day. Remember....the earlier you book, the better!!

Click on 7 day cruises then check dates for 2006 and then 4 day cruises for 2006.

MJ, I see 4 day pricing on that link, but not 7 day. I'll look again--maybe I'm just missing it.

cwf1028, I'll check out the DU website, along with the DCL website. then I'll contact DU if I need more info. Just didn't want to lead them on, but as long as I'm upfront they shouldn't mind.

Thanks, T&B

Also remember that on the 7 night, you have 3 more days worth of tips AND you will probably do more excursions (we can go on the 4 night cruise and not do any excursions, but on the 7 night we need to get off and do stuff). Those things add to your costs.

BTW, the prices for the 2006 cruises came out the last week of September this past year, so you may want to hang out around these board later this year and watch for when prices are released. We want to do a 7 night in 2007 also (our 25th wedding anniversary), but that is going to depend on the prices.

Right on the homepage that the link takes you to is listed 3 day cruises, 4 day cruises and 7 day cruises, land/sea vacation on one side and then on the other it lists Special sailings, FL resident rates, military rates.

Good point about all the other extras. I think my DH is leaning towards a 4 night cruise, but I'm trying to eek as much time out as possible. BTW, it will also be our 25th anniversary (anniv day is 8/22/07).

I'll take another look. Thanks!

MJ, I figured out my problem--when I hit the back button it went back to the 4 day info, not the home page where I thought I was. DUH! :)
