Can anyone tell me the difference between these

Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas
Sheraton Vistana Villages

Is one nicer then the other? Or anything else that you can tell me about them would be greatly appreciated.

They both have mostly good reviews with a few bad thrown in. :confused3 They are time shares. Check out trip advisor to look at the specs and LOTS of reviews. Hope this helps and have a terrific time.

I'd favor the Villages over the Resort. Vistana Resort is a multi-phase timeshare resort that was built out over many years. Each phase has its own owners' association and they decide when to upgrade. Consequently, some sections of the resort are in better shape than others at any given point in time. Despite that, this is a very nice resort with lot's of amenities and activities.

Vistana Villages is a relatively new timeshare resort - I think that they're still in deveopment there. Smaller than the Vistana Resort sister resort, but still has the amenities and activities that you'd expect of a Sheraton Vacation Ownership resort.

Either could be an excellent choice but you'd be more assured of a newer villa if you chose Vistana Villages.

The main Vistana is larger----a tad closer to WDW too. It's about 3 traffic lights from the entrance to Downtown Disney/Marketplace.

Yes...there are various sections at the main resort. They are sort of like little neighborhoods. Vistana has more lush and mature vegetation/trees, due in part, to it being older. The resort is currently under a major remodel. To date, the Lakes, Fountains I & II, and very soon the Springs (by June) will be complete. The newest section, the Cascades, is not complete yet, but since it's not that old anyway, the need for a major rehab is not as necessary either. In other words, these villas are very nice and already appear updated.

Villages is newer and all buildings have elevators. Since the main resort is older, only the Lakes and Cascades have elevators. The other sections are either 2 or 3 stories high. So if mobility is an issue, at the main Vistana, be sure to request "elevator bldg or ground floor for mobility or medical reasons".

Not sure about the Villages as far as food availability at the resort. I believe they have a little store/deli ? Maybe someone can confirm ?

At the main Vistana, you'll have more food options
1)Marketplace which is the resort's general store offering food/toiletries/beer/wine etc for stocking your villa as well as offering deli items and rottisserie chicken meals.

2)there are two poolside bar and grills with quick food and drink options at the Cascades pool and Fountains pool

3)sit down restaurant called Zimmies near the Super pool....also has outdoor bar for poolside convenience.

4)Pizza Hut and KFC/A&W is new this year

ALL offer villa room service.

There are 7 pools at the main Vistana and you will get a more varied activity calendar of events there. There are lots of kids' activities.

The main Vistana also offers :
All-You-Can-Eat Family Barbecue: 6 - 9 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday
Barbecue chicken and ribs, hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, corn-on-the-cob and all the fixings
Followed by Karaoke Night from 7 - 10 p.m.

Yes...and for the record, ALL owner's associations have voted "yes" on the major rehab and all owners are paying big assessments over 3-5 years to cover for it. Some already complete...some in progress....some scheduled between this year and up to 2010-11.

Thank you - I see that one has a game room and one does not, is that correct?

I honestly do not know if the Villages has a game room ? But the main Vistana does.

The pool with the slide, is considered the Falls pool (thus the Falls are nearby). But also, across the street with more Falls bldgs are also the oldest Courts. Falls will have completed the major remodel by June. Courts, however, will not be done by June. So the Falls after being newly remodeled will look like this (from the resort model villa) :

Thanks for this post... we just found out that a parent on DH's HS tennis team will give us a week for free at the Vista Resort in April 2010:woohoo: We have never stayed off site before but for the price it cant be beat.

It might be an idea to check out the resort maps for each place to see what amenities are at each one.

Both property maps are in this thread:

Also there locations are different from each other -- try checking them out on Google Earth to see how far apart they are. Vistana Resort is pretty close to Downtown Disney while Vistana Villages are much closer to SeaWorld.

Thanks for the link to the maps -- we're actually planning to buy at Vistana (seems a better choice for DD9) and it's been impossible to find one.
