Difference between transfers?

What is the difference between the Copy'nPress transfers for color copiers and the transfers for inkjet printers? I bought a pack of the transfers for copiers by accident instead of my usual ones for inkjet for light fabrics. Will I still be able to use them, or should I take them back?

Well, I'm no expert on the transfers. But, I do sell copiers for a living. Paper specified as ink jet are of a more porous weave because it's a wet ink process and must be able to soak into the surface. Copiers are dry toner based and applied by a heat process. Therefore, the paper made for copiers has a smoother, tighter weave/finish so that the toner is laid on the surface of the paper.

Using the tranfers made for copiers in an ink jet printer could mean that the ink would not absorb into the surface properly. They might work OK but I suspect they would not wash as well.

Thank you for explaining the difference--I guess I really need to return the copier transfers! We have an inkjet printer. I tried asking the salesgirl at Michael's about the differnce and she didn't even know, so I apparently kept them in my hand when I got the others, too!
