I have heard that the 5 star snorkle is the best. Is this true? What is the difference. Do you snorkle at different places? Don't they both just go to TrunkBay? Also I noticed that the 5 star is like an hour shorter. Does that mean you have an hour less to snorkle or that their boat is just faster? What is the difference between the boats? Thanks!:D

If memory serves me correctly, there are 4 snorkeling trips to St. John. Two of them go to trunk bay and the others go elsewhere.

The first difference is your mode of transportation: Yacht (5-Star), catamaran (Champagne cat & sail -or- St. John barefoot sail), ferry/taxi/bus (trunk bay beach & snorkel).

I can't speak for any of the others yet, but we have done the barefoot sail. It was a great sailing trip over and back. The owners and crew were terrific. The snorkeling was very good. I do recommend this trip to anyone who is interested. However, ben there, done that. The next time we are going to do the 5-Star trip to trunk bay for a new experience.

Since I'm kinda cheap I wouldn't do the "champagne cat & sail" because I've already paid for lunch back on the Magic. I wouldn't rule out the bus/ferry trip to trunk bay.

hi jrabbit, I have to agree about already paying for lunch on the Magic. We're going to do the 5-star if we can get a reservation.

Bye Lorie

jrabbit,

Where does the barefoot sail go to? Which beach? Honeymoon??

Thanks,

This is something that has us totally confused as well. We will have DS6 with us and he has been on snorkel trips with us before, but for his sake I'm not keen to take the longest route. We want to go to Trunk Bay because we saw it on the Travel Channel and it looks amazing. But if the other trips are better, we might go elsewhere. Help!!:crazy2:

We did go to Honeymoon bay. I beleive the that crew will take you to where they think the snokeling will be best (or less crowded) that day.

The cat. was very nice and the crew was terrific. The kids enjoyed their dog that was on board (and had his own lifejacket).

Thanks Jrabbit....

I was able to book today and I went with the Trunk Bay Beach and Snorkle only because I couldn't get much info on the Barefoot.
We may cancel the excursions and go on our own...I'm still weighing the pro's and con's of this adventure....
About the barefoot;
What type boat is it? Is it a catamaran or is it a sailboat. How many people can the boat hold? Do you get lunch? What time did you get back to the ship?

This one is a little more expensive than either the Trunk Bay beach and the 5- Star and I was wondering why?? Is it because they only allow a few guests?

Thanks again....
