We may need to add on a room to our AoA stay, we have a family suite pkg and would need a mermaid room for 2, but there are no packages available, yet when I do room only they are available. With no ddp right now, what makes it a package, just the tickets? If we got a room only could we add tickets or would we have to buy them offsite, Ive never encountered this?

You can make a room only reservation and purchase tickets separately. The deposit for a room only reservation is approximately the cost of one night's stay. The balance is due at check in. A package includes tickets and a $200 deposit. The balance of the payment is due 30 days before check in. Room only reservations can be cancelled up to 5 days before check in without a penalty, while packages have penalties for changes made within 30 days of check in. Room only reservations are more flexible and better to book if you need to add or subtract people or days.

Are you sure that what you see says there are no packages at Little Mermaid? Or does it perhaps say there are no rooms on sale at Little Mermaid? I did a search that found no rooms on sale at Little Mermaid:

581658

But when I click on Package, Little Mermaid is available:

581659

Are you looking for a specific promotion? I can’t imagine “no package” if room-only is available. I’ve always been able to add tickets if we wanted a package.

Thanks guys, I will check..thats likely what it was..I couldnt understand how it was available for the room only but not pkg.

You can book room only and then add tickets during check out to make it a package. Or you can book room only, and then separately buy tickets from Disney or an offsite seller. The downside to booking room only & buying tickets separately is that separately purchased tickets become nonrefundable as soon as you buy them, whereas if you book a package, you can cancel the entire package with no penalty up to a certain date. The upside to booking room only is that your resort can be cancelled without penalty up to a much later date than a package can be cancelled without penalty.
