I saw this quote, and it got me thinking...
what really is the difference between an art and a craft??

***
Writing is a craft not an art. ~ William Zinsser

What I just found (when I looked it up) is that art is created for its beauty while a craft is something that is supposed to have a purpose/usefulness.

I'd say that art is the finished product, and that craft (or to craft) is the creation of art.

Rembrandt vs those hats with beer cans knitted into them.

LOL :lmao:

I guess I picture art being something beautiful in its own right...
and a craft is a talent someone may have to make something simple??

Its hard to explain....

The other night tho, I watched "Man on Fire'..and I loved a quote in there :

"Any man can be an artist, it depends on what he's good at"
(goes on to say)
"Creasys art is death. He's about to paint his masterpiece"
