I thought they were one and the same, but according to another website, they were categorized differently. Are Animal Kingdom Villas also DVC?

the 5th floor only at Animal Kingdom Lodge is DVC villa. there is also some on the 6th floor - concierge.

where Kidani is completely DVC.

they are in different places but both are part of AKL.

Kidani has bigger units - has the completely bathroom (aKL has a scale down verison)

Animal Kingdom Lodge has two buildings - Jambo House and Kidani Village. As noted by spiceycat, Kidani is ALL DVC villas, while Jambo is mostly deluxe hotel accomodations (non-DVC) with a small number of DVC villas. They both share the same transportation, although the park buses stop at Kidani first and the DTD busses stop at Jambo first. You can walk between the two or hop one of the park or DTD buses, depending on which building you are trying to get to.

Kidani has the restaurant Sanaa, but does not have a QS option. Jambo has Jiko (TS), Boma (buffet), and Mara (QS). Sanaa has a small bar area and Jambo has the Victoria Falls Lounge, which is much larger. The gift shop at Jambo is considerably larger.

The 1BR villas at Jambo have 1 bath and the 2BR have two baths. The same rooms at Kidani have an additional full bath (i.e. 2 in the 1BR, 3 in the 2BR).

We have never stayed at Jambo, although we will be doing 4 nights on the concierge level in June. We love Kidani, as the lobby is smaller and quieter and the pool area is awesome.
