Mine too! :cool1: Is it too early to put my luggage tags on my suitcases?

Love the Baen site for books! :thumbsup2 My Kindle has an option to turn the wireless on or off. Off is especially good for conserving battery life (I can go weeks without recharging) and I have no problems whatsoever using it in a plane.
thanks for the info...I am a Nook kinda girl :) So I really don't know about the Kindle...

Yes, docs came today, but I haven't had a chance to open the envelope.
Mine too! :cool1: Is it too early to put my luggage tags on my suitcases?

RIP THAT PUPPY OPEN!! :hyper:

Ok...you guys we will all be frisking the mailman daily now! :rolleyes1

And, for those of you wanting to make this an annual event, there is a MR cruise scheduled to leave on Easter - 4/8/12. Who wants to book early for that discount?

I know...I check it out for Spring Break next year and it's only a 7nt. Might sell Danny if he really likes Mexico. I am shootin for Alaska or Hawaii or Spain or... :goodvibes

Cayla you are soooo very lucky to do the B2B2B. You get to experience 3 different geo areas week after week after week. :cloud9:

What does Kindle usually cost? There is one at our school auction, wondering what is a good price to bid.

Woohoo  I heard from DCL today re: our tasing. Here is the information they shared.

1- Request an item for tasting – for instance beer or tequila or martinis. Other choices may be mixology or champagne. The final decision will be affected by who is on the ship at the time to lead the tastings.

:woohoo: I reached out to ask for details on the mixology as that sounds very interesting. Once I hear back we can decide on which we would prefer.

2- Minimum number of guests 25 – maximum 50

:thumbsup2 I don't have my list with me at the moment but I think that we meet the 25 person minimum. Will provide an update later this evening.

3- $20 per person, non refundable. I will need a list of names before the sail date and if they choose not to attend they will still be charged if their name is on the list. All payments are charged on the ship.

:goodvibes

Mixology sounds interesting... do you think it's beneficial to do another poll on the website?

Someone brought up a good point about conflict with Palo brunch or tea reservations. Can we find out when tasting usually occurs? Since it's non refundable, what happens if they schedule the tasting at a date/time when we ready have Palo reservations?

So, are there lanyards to order for the group, or just a poll about lanyards? I want "in" on any group goodies we've got going on....so wassup?

Oh, and the mixology might interest me...at $20 if I get more than 2 drinks-worth then it pays out well. Early in the cruise would be a cool ice breaker and start the week off right!

19th we have Palo Brunch scheduled at 11:30 ... 21st would work best for us.. we have Palo dinner at 6:30 ... we can squeeze both in eventhough I have no idea what mixology is??? :)
Then how is Monday the 18th for everyone? Good chance to get acquainted.

...came today!
Yahooo we got ours too!!!

So the rooms are now back but like Lisa mentioned, they are diffent now. At the advice of my dear wife, I am going to stop looking because it is driving me crazy! :headache:

There seems to be no logic and even when I keep track of what cabins open and disappear, there is no pattern. So I have agreed to gladly accept any free upgrade DCL might offer, but more importantly focus in on the cabin that we have today which is 7500. Otherwise, I am going to get sent to the looney bin before our cruise starts. :rotfl2:

:

I'm glad that you have finally decided to listen to my advice. For weeks Virdis had been on a quest to find the perfect room. A room in our price range in the middle or back of the ship. His logic was that most of the resteraunts were in the rear as well as the drink stations on deck 9, so being close to the back was good (at least in his mind). We were in room 1056 which was accross from the elevators on deck 1. The funny part about deck 1 is that you can not walk to the rear of the ship. The crew galley, break rooms, and cabins occupy the middle to back of deck 1 and this area is locked off to passengers. I know that it is in the bottom bowels of the ship, but I was content to have a room in a quiet part of the ship. The location annoyed Virdis but he liked the idea of not having much foot traffic so we were OK.

But night after night, he would log onto the DcL site to try to move our room. The room inventory kept changing but he could never find anything in our price range to the rear without going GTY which he did not want to do. Finally, one night after watching a movie, he grabbed his final beer for the night and logged into the DCL site as he usually does. All of a sudden I here him hollering and yelling for joy that not only he found a cabin but, it was the last cabin at the back of the ship. It was only a couple of hundred dollars more to upgrade so he went running to get the credit card and changed us.

Feeling very proud of himself, he came in and announced that our new room number is 7500. As he was showing me the deck plan to see where our new room was, he realized he made a grave mistake. He had been looking at the deck plans in the wrong direction!!! Instead of the rear of the ship, we were now at the first cabin on deck 7 at the front of the ship. The look on his face was priceless. He didn't even finish his beer. Obviously, he would do bad in the navy....hahahaha. I still love you and the room you got us baby. Even after this experience Virdis is still on the hunt for the perfect cabin. Now that we are less than 6 weeks away and now that we have our cruise docs, I think he finally is ready giving up his quest. That being said I'm still hoping/praying for alittle pixie dust to come our way. I would love to wake up to a verandah.

:goodvibes It's great the DCL will take care of billing the fees. This is how they did on my first cruise. I think the price has gone up a bit but these days what hasn't. I still think it's a good deal to have our own little private function.

4- Cutoff date. I must have all names one week prior. New names cannot be added within the 7 days.

 I'll post the current list and will continue to take additional requests till we hit 50 or the cut-off date which I'll set as April 7th

5- You may request a time and date but the ship will have the final say depending on space available and their schedules. :)

:cool1: I think we should do this on a sea day and would suggest Tuesday, April 19 or Thursday April 21st. What say you guys and what time do you think would be good?

Speak to you all soon.
Helen, thank you so much for setting this up. Please put me down for 1, my DH does not drink at all and I think he would rather relax in the room for a while. I would totally be up for Margarita or Mixology, I like to fruity drinks.

Also, you can put me down for 5 lanyards.

Then how is Monday the 18th for everyone? Good chance to get acquainted.

I vote for the 18th as well. However, totally understand it is up to the ship.

What does Kindle usually cost? There is one at our school auction, wondering what is a good price to bid.

A new Kindle is $139 for the version that only has a wireless connection; or $189 with wireless and free 3G. In my opinion, wireless only is sufficient; you'll usually load your books at home and if you're on the road you can usually find free wireless at Starbucks and such.

Then how is Monday the 18th for everyone? Good chance to get acquainted.

My preference would also be for the 18th. In addition to getting to know each other early, the first day from LA is usually going to be cooler than the rest of the trip so it might be nice to stay indoors.

OK...now can someone please sign us up for one of the many tastings on board. Drinks with the gang of folks here would take my mind off of this topic :dance3:

Yes, I think it's exactly what the Dr. ordered. I'll add you to the list.

I would love to do this, probably the martini or beer. I will ask dh when he gets home from his business trip tomorrow.

Helen, Thanks again for working this. Any day we can sit down over a few drinks (of any kind) with our new DIS friends is fine with us (although doing it early in the trip might jumpstart the fun )! Just wondering...Is there any way to find out what days they have the "public" tastings scheduled (so we can do those too :drinking1:drinking1)? I've checked out the 7-day Navigators but have no idea of how they will translate to a 10-day trip? :confused3

I'll try and find out if they know when the other tastings are.

Thanks so much for making the arrangements for this! :worship: The mixology has me intrigued.:scratchin Should be fun!

Martini's, yes please.
Mixology, yes please.
And because we are in Mexico, Margarita, yes, PLEASE!

Yeah sure. Let's do a poll for the drinks. I think we should put the following up for vote:

Beer
Champagne
Margaritas (need to confirm they can do this one)
Martinis
Mixology (will try and get more details on this)
Tequilla
Wine

Looks like Monday the 18th works well for people so let's roll with that date for now. I know they reserve the right to change it but hopefully we will get Monday. What's the preference on time?

A few people have asked me about the lanyards. In addition to the braclets (thanks to Kristi for getting those done) this will be another way for us to recognize Disboard members and their families. They especially come in handy during the different Dismeets as you will easily be able to see everyone's name and disname. The lanyard is also a pouch and good place to put your Disney Id card/spending card (not sure what the're called).

It looks like we will be going with the following design. I don't have the exact cost yet (need to see how many too order) but I've guestimated at $1 or $2 per lanyard. Connie (Travelbee) and I will begin working on these and getting everything orderd and ready in time for the cruise. As for payment it would probably be easiest to pay on the ship as I'm not savy enough to set up pay pal and we'll be delivering them then.

I have started working on the list so please PM me or post here. I just need the first name for each person in your group (including the kids).

I hope those of us who signed up for the full list didn't overwhelm folks who only wanted to do a half list. Poor Mommafox just jumped from 9 to 21 deliveries.

Edited to add:
Those of us who signed up for the full list are making 31 deliveries.

Okay Kel, you got me worried. There are at least 2 groups of people delivering every day from the 18th to the 26th. Look at the entire list under the group one tab. Disregard where it is says half and full, that was for me to keep things straight. You have everyone on that Group One spreadsheet. Does that make sense? There are 20 or 21 groups participating per group.

kristi is this correct?

Gabriela, you are reading your list correctly. :goodvibes

Does everyone understand the FE list? I guess I should have asked this question earlier. It made sense to me, but not sure how others interpret it. You get everyone on your list; Group One, Group Two or the Full list (for the people doing everyone.) There is at least 2 groups assigned per day for deliveries. Go to the tabs at the bottom for your assigned group.

KTTW (Key to the World) my dear. You should be the DCL veteran by now!

Too funny :rotfl: I know I've jumped all over this like quite the pro but I keep tripping myself up. I guess it's not too bad for my 2nd cruise. Watch me next year.

You've created a monster:goodvibes

I hope those of us who signed up for the full list didn't overwhelm folks who only wanted to do a half list. Poor Mommafox just jumped from 9 to 21 deliveries.

Not at all! It's still about half of all those participating which is manageable. I aspire to me like you guys and do the full list. Maybe on my next one :goodvibes
