Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

We only have 11 Sundays to go!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: I have spent most of this rain day...:surfweb:...let's see what else I find. :rolleyes1

WOW, when you look at it like that, it's really no time at all. I'm try not to get too excited because I need to *focus* and get through 11 more work weeks, lol!

I too would love to meet up in addition to the 3pm meet. A drink or two at a lounge on a sea day sound great me me!

This would be nice since embarkation day is always nutz and we won't have a lot of time to mingle. :thumbsup2

I know me too!!

I know me too!!

I think that's going to be the hardest part for me. I have found myself losing focus which is not like me at all (working from home doesn't help). I think I really need a vacation, lol!

I'm looking forward to hearing what those that just got off the Wonder have to say. I did already read that many of the CMs were new to the Wonder as the "old" Wonder CMs were given the choice to stay in FL on the Dream or come to CA and stay on the Wonder...I guess most went with the Dream. The great news is they'll have plenty of time to get their act together by the time we sail!

I also read that Cabo was extremely busy (nothing new) and the Whale Watching tour was a hit...the fishing tour, not so. Poster said they paid $200 and caught ZERO fish. YIKES!!! :sad2:

Interesting stuff....

Helen - if we end up doing this, I can help you. We can have a pre-cruise party getting this stuff together.

Sounds great! I'm really getting excited and working on this stuff only makes it better.

Helen and Connie, I can also meet up to help get things ready, before the cruise. I like the lanyards and bracelets. Connie, I think I'm less than 15 minutes from you.

Thats sounds great! The more the merrier.

I love this idea. I went back and tried to vote for the wristbands and lanyards, but it would not let me vote again.

Thanks so much Helen and Connie for taking this on. I like seeing my online friends around the ship.

No problem. I know on our last cruise everyone enjoyed wearing them. What was great was that even the kids got them so they felt special and part of the group too. :goodvibes

Does anyone have clip art with Mickey Mouse wearing a sombrero?

This guy is kind of cute:

I've been thinking about using him in a door magnet of some sort, but haven't got much past the thinking part yet. ;)

I just posted the thumbnail here, but I do have a higher resolution version.

hello disers
i love the lanyards design.what do you all think of a meet in cove cafe, maybe we can do a coffe party there:woohoo:

Hello again, thank you for all the kindly welcomes! :cool1:

For those of you who have previously gone on the disney cruise, can you let me know how much I should budget for gratuities for the trip?

Also, does anyone know what shows are held each night?

Any special things that happen only once on the trip that we shouldnt miss?

Thanks Again! :dance3:

Recommended tips per person per day:

Dining Room Server $4
Dining Room Asst. Server $3
Dining Room Head Server $1
Stateroom Host/Hostess $4

$12 per day per person, so total for our cruise is $120 per person. (:scared1: Yikes - I hadn't done the math for this cruise before this!) It sounds like a lot, but by the end of the cruise you'll have gotten such great service that you'll probably feel it isn't enough. :)

I sent an email to DCL asking about the shows, and they responded with a very nice "we can't tell you the schedule 'til you get on the ship."

Good luck to all of you booking tonight -may you all get the reservations you're hoping for! :goodvibes

Pirate night and your 1st rotational dining at AP. :goodvibes

We had the same scare on our first 10nt & then our 15nt was a double :scared1:...but by the end of the cruise we're always excited to give more. ;)

Thanks for checking. :thumbsup2

Thanks again. :surfweb:

This tipping calculator is a great tool. http://cruisetip.tpkeller.com/ It shows you what the cruise line suggested tip should be which tends to be very low. Many people who cruise DCL have been known to tip above the suggested amount, particularly when they have outstanding service. In general DCL offers outstanding service (although by reading the trip reports from those who just got off the ship, it seems there's a learning curve on the Wonder right now).

You don't want to miss pirate night for sure...DCL is the only cruise line to do fireworks at sea!

As for the shows (which are Broadway quality in my opinion), I don't think any of us know when they are but DCL provides you with a "Navigator" in your cabin every day that lists all the events that are being held. Bring a highlighter to note what you want to do. On past DCL cruises we've enjoyed the galley tour, wine tasting and martini tasting (OK, so that was trouble right there). The galley tour was free and the alcohol tastings were $10/pp. Oh...and you don't want to miss a meal at Palo's, which you do have to pay a service charge for, but well worth it.

Just my thoughts based upon my last two DCL cruises. :)

Ok, so I have been playing around with the lanyard/badge design to see if I could spice it up a bit. Let me know if something like this would work. :goodvibes

The Wonder has been doing Toy Story, Golden Mickeys and Disney Dreams as their Broadway style shows for a while now and I don't foresee any changes to that line up. It takes a while for them to create a new show (ie we heard about Villians for months before it debutted on the Magic and it wasn't very good). If there's anything on the horizon, I am sure it'd be all over the disboards. On the 11-night med in May, they added a couple filler "shows" because it was a longer cruise. One was called "Walt Disney - The Dream Goes On" which was pretty good, mostly a tribute to Walt Disney (a mix of stage and video clips). There was "Once Upon A Song", more like a concert of Disney songs. There was a "Crew Talent Show" too. Not sure if any of these will be on the Wonder but the three main shows are a pretty bet.

BTW - wine tasting was $15 last May and Palo has gone up from $15 to $20 since last May too. I remembered Palo was only $10 on our first cruise back in 2007...

We have a Palo Brunch booked! A little sad we couldn't get in for my birthday :( But I am sure it will be great with our friends!!

Got our Palo Brunch, Pirate Ship in PV and Dolphin Swim in Cabo. :woohoo: :woohoo: Karen, Susan and I were all on the phone and on-line getting it done. Once the system let me in it really was quite fast. :goodvibes But still can't get in the on-line checkin. :confused3 Good night everyone!!
