Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

Question: What is the difference in Category 5B and 5C?

The only difference is cost and your location on the ship. Higher floors are generally considered "better", so 5Cs are on decks 5 & 6 and 5Bs are on decks 6 & 7. On deck 6 the 5Cs are in the front and back and the 5Bs in the middle, again because traditionally mid-ship is considered the more desireable location. I personally love being closer to the ocean and we really like being aft, so it's the lowest category verandah for us!

I just saw our new port times posted. I pasted it below but if you want a prettier version go to http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-cruise-line/mexican-riviera.htm#seven I had already sent an email to DCL this morning asking about our Cabo port times, so I'll let you know if their answer is the same as is posted below.

We will try and make it to the meet. Put us down for two bracelets. And I vote for the DIS Meet, 10-day Mexican Riviera, Disney Wonder 4-17-11

Also, I have been PM'ing Gabriela and it looks like Palo does not use the private dining room for high tea. We can however request it for either a dinner or brunch for 12-14 people. Does anyone know if we request the private dining room, does that count for one of our meals there? Or can we have it on top of our already scheduled reservations?

I can share info from the last time I booked brunch in the private room at Palo, but it was a couple of years ago, so consider it YMMV. ;)

It's my understanding that they log requests in the order they're received, so the sooner you get yours in, the better. VIP's or paid parties (weddings, vow renewals, etc) have priority though.
Minimum of 12 and maximum of 14 in the room, but they can seat smaller groups at tables nearby if you have just a few too many.
I had to submit the full name and reservation number of everyone in our group with my request. They notified me approx 30 days before our sail date that we got the room.
Everyone was allowed to make individual brunch ressies while we waited to hear whether we got the private room or not, but as soon as they confirmed it was ours, they cancelled all individual brunch ressies for everyone who was on the group ressie. HTH

kritti:please count me in for 3 bracelets 2 adults and 1 child.
i think we should wait for the reservations for the first time cruisers,to try to book the private room.i my self have book palo dinner, and brunch,(high tea was not availble),and altough i don´t mind having 2 brunches i think is fair to everyone,to let the private room for the ones that couldn´t book it on line.

You can't hold more than one Palo reservation for each meal. It doesn't matter whether it's a group ressie for the private room or an individual ressie.
If you do get the private room, individual ressies for that meal type (ie: brunch or dinner) for anyone listed on the group ressie will be cancelled.

Hi Kristi,

I have my family booked at the Double Tree, but my price ended up being over $200 for the room and park the car there at their hotel for 10 days. They said they shuttle and pick us up too. Please let me know if you wind up getting a better price on priceline.

Michelle, we lost a few people around final payment time. Do you remember her screen name? Maybe that will ring a bell for me.

I would love to wear something so we can find each other at check in. For the 2 day cruise last weekend we had lime green wrist bands, they were cute and only cost us $1.50 each. However, I think I am one of the few who wore mine the whole cruise. I only found one other person at boarding. My long sleeves kept covering my wrist band. I don't know if I am brave enough to wear a lime green shirt. However I would wear our cruise logo shirt or make a button.

We are holding a room at the Doubletree, but I might drop it and try to get a better deal on Priceline. I think $189 for the night is extremely high. I have been hearing people getting the Crown Plaza for $65, which includes the parking.

Did you take another trip or just too busy to check the Disboards?

Traveling.. I wish. Just slammed with work. Your still a trip or 2 ahead of us so far this year. :rotfl:

We want to join in for the bracelets. We would need 2 adults and 2 kids. Not sure about the lime green t's as it may be hard to get DH in one. How about lanyards? I know on the Mediterranean cruise all the Disboard people had lanyards with their Disboard name and real name so you can spot people easily. My family and I loved it and we wore them whole trip.

Played around the website (accidentally deleted the main page and had to recreate it) but was able to add a page for polls. To test it out, I put in two polls - 1) wrist band, lanyards or Tshirt, and 2) cruise "slogan". Try it out and vote!

I added the 3 pm cruise meet at Promenade Lounge to the website. We can always change it or add more later.

That's hard to believe and hard to do! I've been swamped at work too. REALLY looking forward to the cruise and just lay around and do NOTHING.

Thanks Sheila for the information. I guess I am going to skip booking the private dining room, since I already have plans for the brunch and dinner I booked. I do have the information on where to fax a request if anyone is interested.

Deserie,

If you go online now to the Doubletree you can get a room & parking package with breakfast for 2 for $169 plus tax. You do need to pay immediately.

I love the lanyard idea with our screen names and real names. I would totally be up for that too, we could do both. I don't know where to order inexpensive lanyards and how to do the name card though. Helen, do you know where you got them for the Med. cruise?

Thanks Connie for updating the site. You are doing such a great job on that site, thank you. Can anyone think of some other Meets we could have? I would love to get together at a lounge on a sea day to relax and talk a little. And maybe try some of those drinks I keep reading about on the main board :goodvibes

Kristi...I PM'd you on the wristbands. Maybe twice. Went into my pm's and didn't see one from the other day and did another one and it doesn't show either. :confused3 This has been my whole week. :sad2:

Connie...Love the new layout on the website and all the added stuff. I voted for the wrong one too.

Everyone that hasn't sent a photo to Connie (Travelbee)...please send one...I love putting faces to the names. :flower3:

2 1/2 days for us DCL newbies!!! :woohoo: At this time we are only going to do the Palo brunch, Danny LOVES seafood, I'm allergic. We looked over the menu and both agree that it really doesn't look worth the money. Especially since they increased the price.

Wow thanks for the updates and recommendations on a bunch of stuff.
I work for a company that does business in Mex and hadn't hear about
the Mazatlan situation. Very sad for tourist and tourist industry.:guilty:

I just wanted to point out...if you get a room on Priceline for the Crown Plaza it does NOT include the parking. The parking is $10 extra/day...but at $100 for 10 days, if you get a room for $65 or so, it's still a better deal...

Deserie,

Also, my understanding is, at the Doubletree your car is parked outside whereas at the Crown Plaza you car is in a garage with security, FYI.
