You can eat lunch at the Blue Bayou. Pretty much the same as dinner menu but at a lower price. Love the Monte Cristo, which you can also get across the way at the Cafe Orleans - even less. Be sure to call ahead for reservations, even if it is that same morning. In Downtown Disney, Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen is wonderful.. And you can get Beignets at the walk-up window on the outside, before the restaurant opens. We got some this week for breakfast. A little bit of heaven smothered in powdered sugar! YUMM!That's happened to us on a weekend. We usually leave on Tues or Wed and we go about 8:30a. Last time I asked to be all the way in the back where the characters come in and we had no one else near us and had a lot of time with them.Would like to try Mickey's Surf sometime. The Plaza wasn't bad either but I haven't been there in a very long time.
If anyone has never eaten at the Blue Bayou...you've got to go for at least the experience.Get late ressies and only order dessert. They have really cool desserts like a chocolate chip cookie ship with a white mast, creme brulee with cookies in a treasure chest and dubloons (not on the menu). They are a little pricey like the rest of the menu. Did I mention it's the coolest place to eat. I will try and get on the other computer later and download some pics. I think I have enough posts?.?.
The Ariel's Grotto WOC dinner does not include characters so it is different then the reg Ariel's Grotto dinner. We were going to do it if it included the characters but since it didn't have the princesses we decided against it.
We saw WOC last night. We did the picnic meals. I have to say they were well worth it. The tote bags you get for ordering online are adorable! The braclets the kids got are really cute. It saved the stress of needing to get a fastpass. For AP's it was only $12.99 a person and $14.99 for others.

Hope you are back on your feet again soon! I had foot surgery last December and had to stay off my feet for a week - I was going crazy with boredom! So post away - we'll keep you company!![]()

Dany - We are looking to go in Nov as well for DH's birthday. Was thinking of October, but plan to go to San Diego to see some water for a while. How exciting to read all this talk about Disneyland today - I just made reservations for DD and I to spend some time there in November! We're going to take advantage of her 4 day break for Veterans' Day and go Nov 10-14. I know it'll be crowded with the holiday and the start of Holiday Time, but that's okay, I really need a DL fix
and that's the only time we can work it in. We've never stayed on property (although one of these days I'm definitely going to try the GC) - we always stay at the Candy Cane Inn and love it there.
Anyone ever done the DL Holiday Tour? The reviews sound great but I'd love to hear if any of you have personal experience with it.
The picnic meal sounds like a great deal. Might have to do this instead of spending $37 for so-so food at Ariel's Grotto. Did you get a good spot to see WOC? How was the show?
I've gotten the Blue Section twice and the Yellow section once. Gave those to my daughter We had an unobstructed view. We still got wet (misty) and 'felt the fire' Each time I've waited in the long line to get the return passes, but have only waited up to 20 minutes, so not really bad. Nightastic is supposed to end at the end of this month, and I don't know if that includes WOC. The parks go to the short day schedule just after Labor Day.We got tickets for the blue section. From talking to CM's with the picnic meals you get either blue or yellow. The seating goes blue, sit down dining and yellow then red. Red seems to be given out at the end of each set of fastpasses before moving on to the next show time.
we really enjoyed the Blue section. The blue section looks off center but actually show is directed off center instead of straight center. At first I was not happy when they showed us where blue was but then once the show started I was really surprised.
Even with the fast passes you still need to arrive early. There were people waiting to get behind the baracades atleast 40 mins before the fast pass says to return. Then you start loading in at 7:45 and then the waiting begins. At 8:30 they do this really fun pre-show. The girls loved it!!!
As for WOC itself... It was a good show. I am glad that we saw it once. We will do it again with friends who have not seen it but it is not something I am ready to go back and see anytime soon. It was good though. The Ariel part was my favorite. My girls said they liked everything but the Pirates part. They are VERY girly girls so they don't like anything "boy". LOL
I think by Nov though the crowds for wanting to see it will die down. On a holiday weekend I am sure it will be busy but I think by them most "locals" will have seen it and the crowds should die down.
Just an FYI the cast members were saying that by the end of this year they want to have the same fastpass system for Fantasmic at Disneyland. It is nice to not seeing people laying around on blankets all day "camping out". Mind you I have been one of those people before so I enjoyed only hanging around for about 2 hours before the show.
They are similar in that they both have a large projection screen from the water spray, but WOC has more of a water show, like Bellagio in Las Vegas. The music is wonderful. Fantasmic has other features, such as characters on boats, large dragon, Sorcerer Mickey, and the Mark Twain grand finale. You'll want to see both. We were in front of Fantasmic last night as it was about to start, and DD did not want to see it, something about the dragon. Don't know if she likes it or dislikes it.So how does WOC compare to DL Fantasmik! ?
Which of course is the appeal for the teenage boy!The aquarium is fun, and you can get through it in a few hours. I have to go there on field trips every year. Hundreds of kids there-not funHaven't done Queen Mary in years. It's fun to see for the history of it. You may even experience a ghost

Prior to GC being built I stayed at PPH a couple of times, I had heard there was a CA entrance over by PPH, but I have no idea where that is. When is the DLH pool remodel supposed to be completed? This is what I found for the pirate ship in PV. I think it will be a blast! http://www.piratesofthebaypv.com/
GC is our favorite too. But we stay more at the DLH to save the extra too. If you are staying at the DLH and the PPH you can still use the GC enterance. You just show them your KTTW card and you in.There isn't a "tram" or anything else from the DLH or PPH at this time. I can't wait to see the new pool area. It was Neverland and beautiful at night to swim. There is the Croc's Bits n Bites (burgers/ice cream bar) is just South of the pool and a full bar (if your interested) too. Oh I so hope we get to go for Christmas!!

Hook's Pointe - ahhh, THE best Sea Bass I've ever had was at Hook's Pointe... now my mouth is watering!Hooks Point is upstairs, next to the bar. Really yummy. Good price for a steak dinner. Of all the Character Breakfasts, Storytellers has the best food. Goofy's Kitchen-mediocre. Same with Ariel's Grotto.
I hope you're up and about soon!Sorry guys...I am stuck on the couch for a few days. Had knee surgery yesterday and Danny hardly let me up even though it feel good to walk.I am already going batty.

I'll second that - on our last trip we finally were able to make it for lunch and we shared a Monte Cristo - YUM! I also finally got around to trying a Dole Whip and a turkey leg, I made a point on our last trip of trying to hit the food experiences we've never done.If anyone has never eaten at the Blue Bayou...you've got to go for at least the experience.![]()

Though I have never stayed at he PPH. I have heard that that enterance has been closed. Haven't heard when the DLH pool will be done.
Thanks for the link of the pirates - that is definitely the ship I was taking pictures of while standing on our veranda, because I thought it looked so cool. Is anyone else concerned about the 4 hours of sailing? Based on the description it sounded like it was 2 hours out and 2 hours back.
On the Pirate Ship I would think with the snorkeling/water activities and the show and such will make the day go very fast.
I hope you're up and about soon!
Thank you. Today it's harder to walk on it. But I was up a lot yesterday when Danny took a nap.

DD = dear or darling daughterhi! We're on board too. I don't know what all the initials mean (DH etc) but there's me, hubby, and new baby on second seating, traveling from western PA. My username is loving _life (note there is a space before the underscore... don't know how but I have to live with it). What happens with all this info.. do we all try to meet? Anyone compile a list of those with fish extenders? Take care!!![]()
