I've noticed quite a few diet tickers on postings and was just wondering if those of you that are trying to lose a few pounds could let us know how you're doing it??
I lost 35lbs two years ago, and its quite a struggle to keep it off.
I lost mine going to Slimming World, and became virtually vegetarian, through following the diet.
I just thought those of you out there, might want to give tips/ help/ encouragement to others, to help them reach their goals.

I lost 140 pounds by following the WW plan, exercising every day and along with the support from this board and the Wish board.

I have been doing Slimming World since January and have lost just over 2 stone so far. I find it SW easy to follow - my trouble is, I'm getting to that stage where I need to exercise but I just don't seem to be able to get up the motivation.

im not on a diet but my mum is even though she doesnt need to be as i like my mum as she is.
but the odd times shes told shes had a sneak at my sweets though i dont realy mind.

Did anyone see the Paul McKenna series on Sky - on weight control?? He was going on about knowing when you're hungry, and to stop eating when you're full. I know this is common sense, but if you like food, its not always that easy!
If I start to put a few pounds back on, I start asking myself am I really hungry? Do I really need to open the fridge door again, or biscuit cupboard!!
It does work well, and you can soon get those extra pounds off.
Well done to everyone who's lost weight.

I am doing WW and it seems to be working so far :thumbsup2 Still got a long way to go though :guilty:

I am doing the counting calories via fitday, and if its not in the house I can not eat it. Take no money to work, only take your credit card and bring your own lunch.

For exercise I am doing the, get a gym membership where I have to use it otherwise I am wasting money.

So far I have lost 10lbs.

I also find if I force myself to drink a glass of water when I feel hungry, I tend to no longer feel hungry. I also try to drink 2L of water a day. It was hard at first because I soon became best friends with the bathroom at work, on the train, in my house and anywhere else I go. But after about 2 weeks my body has gone back to normal, and my skin looks better too which is a bonus.

Weight watchers for me - and exercise. If you cant fit exercise in to your day then get a pedometer. If you're doing 10,000 steps you're on the right track - any less than that - GET MOVING!

Good luck. :thumbsup2

I tried Rosemary Connelly for years but found it too restricting. At least with WW you an choose naughty things and balance them out with healthy stuff.

Good luck to everyone.

trying to loose weight just by watching what I eat, and cutting down on desserts (definatly my downfall), I have started having porridge for breakfast wasn't sure at first and then a friend suggested I tried it with different fruits, my favs are raspberry and strawberry, I have a bowl made with skimmed milk (the only milk I actually like!) every morning and boy does it fill you up, I normally have a salad (again one of my favs) or a wrap with lowfat cream cheese and salad at lunch and an evening meal ~ the same as the rest of the family. I try hard not to eat after 8 p.m. but with DS training at different times, and me the taxi service! this can be kinda hard but if I do get peckish and can't resist I have a bowl of cereal or even another of porridge ( which I read today is really good for lowering your cholestrol), so far I have lost 13lbs and it really hasn't been a struggle.

In the 5 weeks before my holiday, I lost a stone, and brought myself back down to a 32" waist, something I'd not had for years. I am not really overweight, I hit 13 stones (im 5'10 age 36), and although not clinicaly obesce, I had a problem with the distribution of my weight, it was all in my "beer belly".
My problem is basicaly lack of excercise....I do absolutely nothing....and combining this with my love of chocolate, it just meant that I was slowly growing bigger. My diet involved cutting out the junk chocolate/crisp type snacks completely, and loosely following the weight watchers point scheme. It worked realy well, and I also discovered the fantastic "Special K red berries" cereal.
I was really pleased with my weight loss, and my photos in swimming shorts looked a whole lot less embarrasing than my previous holiday photos, and despite 3 weeks of junk food on America, I only put on 4lbs (must have been all the theme park walking that helped), and I planned to continue with my healthy eating when I returned.....unfortunately its not proved easy whatsoever, I am back on the take-outs and snacking through the day on chocolate bars (its 7:15 and ive already had a small Galaxy bar and 2 bags of crisps).
My new outhouse/garage should be finished by the end of the week, and I have a treadmill ready to go in it. Im also going to buy a decent exercise bike to go in there....so next week or so, Im kicking the junk food, hopefully forever, and im starting to get some exercise done, which is something i have not done for maybe 20 years.

One thing that did help me lose weight was the discovery of a fantastic frozen meal from Asda. Its one of the steamfresh type microwavable meals called I think "chilli chicken with noodles", its 3 for a £5, and it is only 5 weightwatchers points (my allowance was 28 points a day) yet it tastes fantastic and theres loads of it. I was having one or 2 every day !

You guys are fantastic for staying motivated enough, wish I had your staying power, just wanted to say well done for your losses, and will have to try a bit harder,
Florence, 140lb is outstanding :cheer2:
