My name is Kevin I'm 43 years old
I was afraid to get on a scale for the longest time.
My weight was up to 265 pounds when I stepped on the scale.
I started thinking about how I lost weight in the past but would gain it back plus more.
I have lost 60 pounds for over a year and it was all done by changing my Lifestyle.
All at no extra cost, nothing to buy, just eating healthy and a daily walk.

Operationalizing the changes necessary to live more healthfully is a lot harder that many folks anticipate, and I see the same problems associated with relying on "a diet" stemming from relying on "a lifestyle change": When the fervor of the initial effort is gone, the discipline (be it "diet" or "lifestyle" -- in my experience, the different is insignificant) slips, and the successes are halted or perhaps reversed. What does work? Recognizing that "the rules apply to you" every day of your life -- that weight problems you'll probably never be able to eat whatever you want and slack off on exercise, and still expect to stay fit, i.e., that you need to be on a diet and exercise program every day of your life. It is important to accept that this is a lifelong commitment to yourself, I believe. So what works isn't a diet or a lifestyle change -- what works is a change in perspective.
