Over 3 years ago, I started a thread to try to help encourage, motivate, help answer questions and generally be there for people who was looking for some accountability in their quest for a healthier lifestyle. Well, that thread grew and grew and has now gone on and it is time to start a new one for those that may be interested in joining or coming back home.

We had a great group and I am sure that we can have another great group to support each other again. That's really what it is all about. Determination, accountability and support. I know for a fact that if we join forces, work together, we as a group ( a group of Disney nuts:laughing:) can achieve what goals we have set.

So with that being said, are there any takers? Anyone want to come along for the ride?

Well.... if I become a "regular" on another thread, I may have to give up sleeping to have time to post! But I may jump on periodically to see how everyone is doing. I find that "dieting" for a Disney trip is my VERY BEST motivator. It is the after-trip eating that is usually a problem for me!

I look forward to hearing how everyone is planning their pre-trip weight loss and such..............................P
 
P Anytime you want to post is fine. Just as long as we don't "loose" the thread. If we do, that's ok too. This is meant to be a helpful forum in whatever way you may need at the time. As you can see already, I won't be able to get over here everyday either. Life is just too busy and complicated right now but we are trying. We are trying to make a difference in our lives and that is what's important.

Can I join in? As you can see from my post count, I pretty much only lurk, but I am starting a new fitness program and really need some accountability. Reporting in to some fellow Disney freaks just makes it that much more palatable! I have a trip coming up in August and would actually like to be in some of the photos this time.
I have no idea what I weigh. That's right--I don't even own a scale! I do know that my size 16 clothes are getting tight, and I don't like it. I'd like to be a size 10-12 like I was in college.
Tonight, I'm going to the store to buy a scale and a pedometer.
I hope we can all help each other out!
 

I'd love to check in with fitness, but I don't diet so I can't check in as far as food goes because I'd have nothing to report. ;)
 
Would love to join your thread!! I am planning a WDW trip for Sept/Oct and hoping to lose 30lbs. I am doing the WW diet, my weigh in day is Wednesday. In the next couple of days I will take a picture of my self in a mickey shirt I got off the Disney Store website (XXL) that I am going to wear each time I exercise to motivate myself for WDW. That way I can also see how the shirt looks on me by the time I get there!

I started watching my diet yesterday and would like to do some sort of activity 5 days a week. I cannot do any strenuous for another 3 weeks and I may join a gym at that time. There is a pool and I think I would love water aerobics.

Well just weighted in today for the first time....3.5lb weight loss. I have been exercising in my mickey shirt all week, to keep motitvation for my trip in Sept.

I have decided no more thinking of dieting. It is time to loose weight....DH is going to do it with me....

I am 5ft 6in, and i was 238. Since thursday, I have lost 6 pounds, and i am walking every chance i get. I want to get back to 140.

I have epilepsy, and the medication really put the weight on. Now that i am off of that medication, it is time to get back to myself....:goodvibes

I do not know if anybody remember me...but my name is Eva and I used to post on this thread all the time. I have been absent from the DIS for so long. I am sorry that I left for so long. I have missed it, and really missed talking to all of you. Especially YOU Bryan....you are so AWESOME!!

Well, I wish I could say that my life has been going good since I left, but it has not been as great as I hoped. But, I am trying my hardest to change it for the better. I have so long to go, but, I know I can do it. Somewhere inside is the power to keep going. :wizard:

I hope you will take me back. Talk to you all soon....

My name is Chris, and I used to post on the other thread, but have been absent from Dis for almost a year. I've just been busy with juggling life and a very active almost 5 year old little girl.

We are heading to Disney the end of July to celebrate my 40th (YIKES!) birthday. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm hoping to drop another 20 pounds before we go. I have been maintaining a 22 pound weight loss for about 2 years now. I recently got back into the gym on a regular basis and am loving it. I have registered for my first race, a 4 miler the end of June, and on the 15th I plan on registering for the 2010 Disney Princess Half Marathon. I have plans to run the Mickey in 2011 and try for the Goofy in 2012.

I'm looking forward to participating back at WISH again. I have quite a bit of weight to lose still but I'm not sure exactly where I'm hoping to get, I'm playing it by ear. I want to be healthy and fit. I've gotten to the point where I'm not concerned with numbers as much as I am with how I feel.

It will be nice getting to know everyone.

HockeyChic, I don't know if you remember but we were on a Biggest Loser team together. WTG on going for the Goofy! You look fantastic!

I've got to go wake up my small person and get her ready for preschool. The great thing is she goes to school at our rec center which is also where I work out so I have NO excuse not to get in there three times a week. I'm just waiting for my things to dry and I'll have my bag packed. I'll be off to do three miles today!
 
Weighted in today....3.5lb weight loss!!! Had a great week, workout 6x this week and tried lots of new recipes out on my husband and kids. If any of you do ww online here is one of the ones we loved:

Also if any of you have netflix, you can watch workout videos on there instant watch, and they are a large amount that you can also get by mail, I tried one this week and it was fun! Hope everyone has a great week!!

You are all doing great here!!!! I am so proud of the accomplishments that I have just read. 3.5 pounds, 7 pounds, any weight is a good thing. But that is just motivating. I have a very good friend here that I have started training and motivating some and they lost 7 pounds the first week too. It is really an eyeopener to what we can accomplish when we are determined to do so. Don't loose that on anything and all of your dreams can be attained!!!

Looks like I have also seen some familiar faces floating around here too. Chris, Eva and Hockeychic, I think I remember knowing all of you in a past life. (hehe) It is really great to see (hear) from all of you and hope that we can continue on this journey together!

I am so glad I found this thread! Count me in! I also have been a lurker for a long time, but need to come out of lurkdom to hold myself accountable in my weight loss efforts.

I am planning a surprise Anniversary trip to Disney World for my husband. We will be celebrating 15 years next June:hug:. We used to be Disneyland fanatics as we live in Northern California. Unfortunately, DH started to suffer from "burnout" so he hasn't been to DL for 1 1/2 years:eek:. So I am planning a huge trip for just the 2 of us (we always take family).

I need to lose a total of about 70 pounds and hope to lose most of it by next June.

Dieting for Disney? I'm there!!! (well, not really with the dieting part)

I am determined that I am going to go on the next podcast cruise. December 12, 2010. That will be my incentive / reward.

I have never dieted. And I still won't. I will aim to have healthy habits.

I am going to keep moving. For fitness, I already walk, go to gym, do water aerobics.

I am going to eat mindfully. I am going to eat single servings. I am going to swallow before putting more food in my mouth. I am not going to snack all day, instead will have planned and healthy snacks.

My weight will go down. I will be more healthy. I will go on the next podcast cruise! And on the cruise, I will enjoy eating.

Congrats to you all on the weight loss.

I went to the Dr on Monday just to get my thyroid pills renewed and found out I have high blood pressure.....I have never even been close to having HB. Bit of a wake up call so as of Monday I have cut out all my addictions, pepsi and potato chips and since Monday I have lost 4 pds. I still have about 46 to go to I think feel healthy but that goal weight will fluctuate as I lower my weight to see how I feel.

Continued good wishes to you all!!!! We can all do this!!!!
