"Didn't you see our first movie? We drive..." An August 2012 TR The new TR is up!!!

Our nasty dinner and we almost witness a death occur on Main Street USA

We found a spot on Main Street to sit.

Mum put her backpack down on my spot to reserve my very comfortable seat while I took the very grueling, extremely painful, awful, mission to get some dinner. It sounds like I was going to go to Mount. Everest and climb to the top. It was like that though.

I got in line at Casey’s.

During the Magic Kingdom rush hour.

We should have learned our lesson before but we both wanted food, since who wouldn’t?

The line was out the door.

It was craziness.

I stood in line for about 20 minutes. For two hot dogs. Yup.

I don’t even know why I even bothered.

Once I got up to the counter, I ordered the food and the CM got two of the hot dogs (that are delicious…) that were sitting there for probably an hour.

Mum told me she wanted onions and ketchup on her hot dog so I went over to the toppings bar and tried to put ketchup on both of them which just turned into a big mess and I got it everywhere. It was just a disaster.
I tried to take our food out to Main Street but people wouldn’t let me by, I was yelling “EXCUSE ME!”, and I almost dropped everything like five times.
Finally, someone let me go out the door and I juggled the trays back to our spot. I could hardly hold everything and I was afraid that our drinks would spill all over the food.

I pushed through the crowd with our meal and Mum saw me and ran up to take something. We sat down and ate the worst meal that could possibly exist. Oh wait, that meal is at Mara at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, but that’s another story.

Here are our hot dogs. As you can see, I did such a good job putting the ketchup on…
844b.jpg

And here is a blurry picture of the fries.
845x.jpg

The food was nasty. The hot dogs were gross and the fries were hard and cold. I don’t even know why we bothered getting food there. I hear people RAVE about Casey’s (I think they are the ones on drugs) and every time we have been, it has been so gross. I don’t know if that is because it’s during Magic Kingdom rush hour or what, but in my opinion, I would not recommend going to Casey’s. Just go there if you absolutely NEED food because you are so famished like the poor kids in Africa. If not, don’t bother.

We ate our nasty food and people watched for a while.

The sunset was very pretty that night!
846o.jpg

It started thundering and I was like “Oh crap…” It only sprinkled for about two minutes. Mother Nature must have known VIPs were in the Magic Kingdom that night and didn’t want to get wet…

Cinderella’s Castle looked very beautiful that night, especially with the giant lamppost in the way.
847l.jpg

Mum is going to KILL me for posting this and I know once she reads this chapter she will be like “WHY DID YOU POST THAT PICTURE OF ME?! I LOOK AWFUL?!”
848h.jpg

For some reason, I think this picture is hilarious. I look fine, and then I look at Mum and laugh. Her eyes look WAY too far apart and I think it is hilarious. I am such a good daughter, aren’t I?! She should be so thankful for what she has to put up with.

There were these two little girls sitting next to us that were being very well behaved. And I have to say, more well behaved than me. That is just sad.
Mum asked me if I still had any stickers from Connie with me to give them and I found some in my pocket that were all wrinkled. So I handed them to Mum and she was like “I’m not giving these to them! They are all wrinkled!” I didn’t understand why she wouldn’t give them to the sweet children who deserved a sticker for being so good. I guess I don’t deserve a sticker then. I mean, they had Cinderella on them! I know they would like ‘em. I guess Mum didn’t think so. Well, to come to think of it, she HATES wrinkles in clothes, so I should have expected that from her. She seriously is insane. She has to iron every single morning. People think she is crazy, including me. She really should take to someone about her wrinkle problem…no not the ones on her face!

Anyways, MSEP started at 9, and OF COURSE you have those people who think it is totally fine to walk on Main Street while the parade is coming. It’s not like CMs are yelling at you to get off the street or anything....
There was this woman who hopped out into the road for a picture, while the parade was coming. I thought Main Street was going to be filled with EMTs any second because the parade float almost hit her, seriously. I could see the headlines now…

“A WOMAN GETS HIT BY PARADE FLOAT AT DISNEY. EMTS FILL MAIN STREET USA.”

“WOMAN GETS HIT BY MSEP FLOAT. REPORTS SAY SHE WAS JUST A STUPID GUEST.”

“WOMAN RISKS HER LIFE FOR A STUPID PICTURE THAT PROBABLY CAME OUT BLURRY BECAUSE OF CMS RUNNING (AND YELLING) TO SAVE HER BEFORE SHE GOT HIT BY A PARADE FLOAT.”

As you can see, I like coming up with newspaper headlines. A newspaper really should hire me because 1) I’m awesome 2) I write good newspaper headlines and 3) I am a wonderful author that is not on drugs. See?! I would be PERFECT as a newspaper writer.

MSEP soon came down the street and no dead people were lying in the streets or anything. So enjoy all of my pictures and my wonderful commentary.

I am pretty sure that woman almost got killed by the Tinkerbell float. Imagine if she did?! I could hear the children screaming now…”MOMMY! TINKERBELL JUST KILLED SOMEONE!”

I’m sorry to the people who like MSEP, BUT WHEN IS SPECTROMAGIC COMING BACK?!?! I keep hearing rumors in the spring and I am crossing my fingers that those rumors are true. I am not a big fan of MSEP and the music annoys the crap out of me and makes me go insane after like five minutes of listening to it.

Of course, we had to have wait about 20 or so minutes before MM&Y started and Wishes, and from that point on, I had chills for the rest of the night because THEY ARE BOTH SO BEAUTIFUL AND INCREDIBLE AND AMAZING OMG.

Ahem…

The hotdogs don't look like anything I would rave about, so I totally get why you were disappointed! :crazy2:

You and your mom are both totally adorable. Seriously, I think it's so cool that you two have such a great relationship - you're both very lucky to have one another. :flower3:

I am sorry your Casey's meal was not good. We ate there in September and everything we had was hot and fresh and tasted very good, so I guess we got lucky. I want Spectromagic back, too !!!

Yeah, the hot dogs were pretty gross.
Thank you so much! Yes, we have a wonderful relationship and she is my best friend <3

We are never lucky when we go to Casey's I guess. I will have to try the corn dog nuggets when we go back because I have heard people LOVE those. And I think we will have to go at a different time of the day also.
Spectromagic NEEDS to come back. All the people at Disneyland complains because they want MSEP back and then we complain because we want Spectromagic back!

ok, first WHY do you post pictures of me like that? I look like I had been drinking around the world over in EPCOT...which I should do sometimes, you know after putting up with you and all!!! :rotfl2:

But, no I guess it may have been the hotdogs making me look like that!

Seriously though, I think we have to try Casey's at some point OTHER than while we are waiting for a parade and the line is a mile long. It just never turns out well then. At all.

Becasue I love you! (: Yeah you kind of do like you have been drinking around the world.
It probably was the hot dogs! Like how the "flatbread" at Mara made you sick. The hot dogs at Casey's make you look like you had one too many margaritas in Mexico! :rotfl:
Yeah we have to!

Ending the night with the best firework show ever

We moved into the Street before MM&Y started. I NEVER get good pictures of MM&Y (I guess I never will now…) so please enjoy my awful pictures with a giant lamppost in the way, so that makes the awful pictures horrendous.

Beautiful, I know.

Even though they stopped doing MM&Y (very disappointed about that), I am excited what they will do at the beginning of November with the new show called Celebrate the Magic! How wonderful! I have seen pictures of what it will be like and it looks cool, but I am going to miss opening up my heart and letting the memories begin with all the lovely guests that I love so much crashing into me with their strollers to get by so they can try to see if they are on the castle, even though the pictures are so tiny.

I really liked the summer edition of MM&Y with Ariel and the beach and such. It was pretty cool.

Now this update won’t be all crappy pictures. I got some really awesome ones during Wishes, which I am actually listening to on iTunes right now so I can feel like I’m there while I’m writing this update, even though that doesn’t do a big help. It’s not the same because I don’t have a big Mickey balloon blocking my view.

I am getting chills from listening to this.

Anyways, enjoy my pictures while I cry my eyes out because Wishes is so beautiful and I just want to be at Disney right this second eating a pork shank at Gaston’s Tavern, exploring New Fantasyland, and skipping down Main Street. ONLY 37 MORE DAYS UNTIL I CAN DO THAT YAYAYAY.

Ahem.

Onto the pictures…

“And all our wishes will come true.” <3

“Just believe!”

Oh my God all I have serious chills right now. THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL OMG THE ENDING OMG OMG I LOVE THIS WHY IS DISNEY SO AMAZING I LOVE YOU JIMINY CRICKET. SOBBING.

905t.jpg

Is it just me or does anyone else love the Wishes exit music? I love how it has a guitar solo in it. It’s so random and I love it. Like I just want to stop in the middle of Main Street sometime and do an air guitar solo along with the song. It would be so epic. And plus everyone would be yelling at me to walk out of the park. It would be so awesome. Maybe I’m the only one who thinks that… Probably.
It’s really sad that I just did an air guitar solo along with it.

We exited the park—sadly—which wasn’t as bad as it usually is, and got in line for the boat. A boat was JUST leaving. I should have yelled at the captain “DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!” I know he would have turned around and kicked two losers off of the boat to make room for us, since we are so special.

Since the stupid captain didn’t know who we were and didn’t let us on the boat, we had to stand in line in front of these people and I totally eavesdropped on their conversation while we were waiting.
So it was this guy who I am pretty sure was by himself and he was talking to this woman, her son, and her son’s friend. So this guy was saying that he came to Disney all the time and was saying how he comes for the holidays and was saying how it was so crowded last Christmas. Oh really? I didn’t know it was crowded on Christmas… Then he continues to call things by the wrong name and I was like “Really dude?” Then the mother and her son and his friend were saying how they try to come every few years (LOSERS) and they acted like they knew EVERYTHING about the parks. I can’t STAND the people who think they know everything about everything at WDW and have only been once, and that was like 20 years ago. Pet peeve at Disney #1678346796.
Maybe I am just being rude, but I am sorry. I just can’t stand those kinds of people.

We also watched the Electrical Water Pageant which I just LOVE, from the queue.

Our boat came quickly and the captain was telling us facts about Disney that I already knew of course so I just sat there listening to all of the losers who had no clue about anything.

Once we got back to the Wilderness Lodge, we dropped our stuff off at our VILLA and went to Roaring Forks to get some ice cream.

The ice cream is self serve so you can get as much as you want. I love how the Dole Whip machine at the Poly is self serve. I just want to get a mountain of Dole Whip one day and it would only cost $2.89, which would be so awesome. And if you are wondering, I did not know the price of a Dole Whip off the top of my head. I had to look it up. That would be just weird.

So we got our ice cream and I got a little much.
910h.jpg

I take the WORST ice cream pictures. At least this one looks better than the picture of my ice cream in the United Kingdom.

It was like eleven at night and I was having a giant bowl of ice cream. Not like I cared or anything.

We went back to the room and I ate 90% of my ice cream before we even got back. I am such a little piggy. I didn’t end up finishing it and stuck it in our part fridge/part freezer thing. The freezer didn’t really keep it cold so it turned into soup so I just ended up throwing it out.

We got ready for bed and fell asleep in our very cozy bed in our VILLA.

Overview of the day

We head out into the African savannah...

August 16th

We woke up at about seven on this fine Thursday morning.

Mum will allow me to post this picture of her. Since I am the wonderful daughter I am, I told her she looked very lovely in this picture (:
911h.jpg

We were out the door by 8:40 but we had to go to the car first to get my flip flips to put on. I have to say, even though I usually wear sneakers to the parks, my feet felt fine with my flip flops. I wore them on this day because of the park we were going to and I didn’t want to walk around in wet sneakers all day. And plus my feet probably felt fine because I was wearing my flip flops with my built in orthotics, since those are the only sandals I can wear. My feet are so messed up and I have to wear orthotics for the rest of my life and I can only wear high tops because my feet will come out of a “normal” sneaker. And my orthotics cost about an arm and a leg, so good thing I haven’t needed them in a few years! I won’t post a picture, but when you look at my wonderful feet, it looks like I have two ankle bones. Strange, I know.

And that includes the medical part of my trip report for today! Seriously, most of the TR is just about my weird problems, ducks, chicken, and Honey Boo Boo—did you guys hear that TLC picked it up for another season?! BOO YA—with a little bit of Disney thrown in.

Anyways, we got on a bus and we had to stop at the Grand Floridian and Blizzard Beach, which was just a waste because NOBODY got on at either stop.

We got to the park at about 9:45, which was WAY later than I wanted to get there, but I would live.

Any guesses on where we were going?

Animal Kingdom anyone?
913k.jpg

And the ranting starts…NOW!

So over the past year, I have gotten SO much appreciation for Animal Kingdom. TONS of people say “oh well, it’s a one day park. There’s hardly anything to do blah blah blah.” I am sorry, but I cannot stand those people. After learning a lot about the Animal Kingdom and Imagineering and Joe Rohde, Animal Kingdom is one of my new favorite parks. And let me tell you, if you don’t know who Joe Rohde is, GO GOOGLE—or bing, or whatever the crap you do—HIM NOW. He is the one who came up with the idea for Animal Kingdom and basically designed the whole crappin’ park. That man is a genius I tell you. SO many people don’t have the appreciation for Animal Kingdom that they should have. Yes, I know it feels like you are actually in Africa, Asia, or wherever because of the heat, but that’s what Disney does. They make you feel like you are in a different continent. And it’s ALL in the details. Seriously. (I will get into the details in the next day of this trip so STAY TUNED!). I just LOVE Animal Kingdom and all of its details. Once you actually start paying attention, you will realize how much work the Imagineers put into a queue or something. It’s truly amazing, and that is the main reason that I love Animal Kingdom. DETAILS DETAILS DETAILS! People always say they can only spend a few hours in Animal Kingdom, but I could spend days there just looking at all of the details. People just need to take a step back and appreciate this park. I am probably going a little crazy about this, but people need more appreciation for this incredible park.

And that includes my rant for today!

Another one of my favorite Disney details: tributes!
914o.jpg

Beastly Kingdom, anyone?

This might sound shocking, but we grabbed a MAP. I know, calm yourselves down! I KNOW it’s a shocker, but Mum hadn’t been to Animal Kingdom since 2007 (HOLY POOPS!) and I hadn’t been since 2009, which is just ridiculous! So we weren’t that familiar with the layout of the park, as let’s say the Magic Kingdom, which I know inside and out.

We headed towards Kilimanjaro Safaris but not without standing in awe of the Tree of Life.
915o.jpg

Seriously, it’s one of the most amazing things I have ever seen in my life. It is just incredible, and that’s why it’s one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

We made our way to Africa…
916cs.jpg

917cp.jpg

…and arrived at Kilimanjaro Safaris, which only had a 20 minute wait, so we got in line. I just love the queue. SO MANY DETAILS.
919v.jpg

920v.jpg

Even though this picture came out blurry, I LOVE this sign. It says “It is NOT possible to stop the vehicle for photographs.” Stupid guests must say that ALL THE TIME bahahaha.
921j.jpg

We got on our safari vehicle and I got the end of the row YES!! Since I wanted to get some good pictures, I did NOT want to be in the middle of the row.

Our tour guide was Cheryl, and I cannot remember anything about her except she worked for Disney, she was a female, and her name was Cheryl. Oh and plus she was a human being and not an alien.

I got some great pictures on this safari.

We saw rhinos…
922ki.jpg

Sometimes in Disney, I wish I could be a rhino because I would love to hit slow walkers who move like my great grandmother in the back with my horn, or I could be a unicorn, since those exist and all. No really. They do…

927iw.jpg

We saw TONS of giraffes that morning. And there were a few babies too…actually I shouldn’t call them babies because they are like twice the size of me.

928w.jpg

929jq.jpg

JHJVGKFGJKBGFJKVWJKEGUKLFAEYOERY CUTE ANIMALS.

Seriously, can this picture get any more awesome?!

931e.jpg

I love how the one that is standing up is looking at my camera.
932r.jpg

This picture came out blurry, but you can see the drool coming out of his mouth. EEWWW!
933z.jpg

You can’t really tell, but he was SO close to our vehicle.

After the giraffe palooza, the elephants were next!

937h.jpg

IN LOVE WITH THIS PICTURE.

*dies*
942u.jpg

Then all of a sudden, we saw Simba…
943zt.jpg

And then everyone on our vehicle died, including Cheryl, so then another driver saw everyone dead and called 911 and then a bunch of EMTs and policeman came to save us! Then they saw Simba and they ran because Simba thought they were food and ripped them to pieces and I got hit in the head with one of the policemen’s legs and I got a concussion. I am the only one that survived because the Disney magic saved me. And then Simba growled and broke out into “The Circle of Life” and then all the other animals in the savannah joined in and it was just beautiful. There I was singing along with a bunch of animals singing and dead people in the middle of an African savannah.

Actually that never happened.

What actually happened was that Nala came over to Simba! It was amazing, and that’s why everyone died.

There’s Simba (who looks like he is about to eat a policeman) and Nala’s tail.
944j.jpg

IT WAS AWESOME.

After our wonderful safari, we headed into Asia to see if we could get on Kali River Rapids.

You forgot to mention how Cheryl was saying how it is pretty rare to see a giraffe laying down, and then we cam across that one, laying down! You must have been too busy concocting that odd lion story in your head!!!:lmao:

I think that was one of the better safaris we have been on, cause we saw so many animals that day...best time to go is first thing in the morning when it is hot out!

I wish that lion story was true. I can picture Simba breaking out into song around all of the dead people.
Yeah, we saw a ton of animals that day.

Just catching up on your more recent posts. I love your photo of 'Simba' on Kilimanjaro Safaris. That's a fab picture!

Funny that you watch Honey Boo Boo. I have seen quite a few episodes. June's 'forklift toe' is disgusting. Alana is quite cute though. I thought it was mean for the family to bring Glitzy back just for a pageant, I really hoped she would get it back. Why did they even give it away in the first place?!

Any word on if there is another season... and when it will start?

I love your photos of Wishes. They are so pretty! And I am sad tMtM&Y is gone too. :sad1:

June's forklife toe is NASTY!
I know! I thought maybe they would bring Glitzy back for good. She was my favorite!
I heard that there will be another season (!!!) but I don't know when it starts. I heard they will have some holiday specials too! But didn't they already have their Christmas special with Sugar Bear dressed up as Santa?! :rotfl2: That was SOO attractive!
Thank you! I am very happy with the way they came out.
I just want MM&Y back :sad2:

I agree that Animal Kingdom is a great park and that is has just wonderful detail. We LOVE it there and the kids ALWAYS want to go.

I love your giraffe photos. They are my favorite. We had one come right up to our vehicle on our safari and I swear I could have touched it !! I wanted to, so bad !!

Wait ........ who says unicorns aren't real ??? Well, that is just bunk and I won't believe it !!

Thanks! Oh wow, that is so cool!
Weird people say unicorns aren't real! But I am not one of those freaks!

Awesome Animal Kingdom pictures!!! I am so glad you took pictures of the signs, I did not realize that the vehicles didn't stop, I just assumed that they did, for a perfect photo op, still they must go pretty slow b/c your pictures are super clear, so you can get pics, that's a good thing? I'm soooo new to this, thank you for your fearless leadership!:upsidedow

Thank you!
They want you to feel like you are on an actual African safari. I mean, they slow down a little bit so you can see the animals well and not have you rush through. So when we saw the giraffes, Cheryl didn't totally stop, but we still had a perfect photo op. We still were moving but she just went slow. You will be able to get a ton of pictures!
I don't mind helping out at all! If you have any questions at all, don't be afriad to ask :goodvibes

We move on into Asia...

From Kilimanjaro Safari, we went to Kali River Rapids to get Fastpasses.

BEAUTIFUL <3
946s.jpg

947ch.jpg

I love looking at all of the animals on the Tree of Life. It’s crazy how people carved them in free hand.

Thank you signs that I love so much for showing us which way to Kali River Rapids!
948k.jpg

Seriously, I LOVE LOVE LOVE these signs. They are just so amazing and just another reason why love Animal Kingdom.

A CM was standing outside of KRR and said that the ride was down due to audio problems. Awesome.

And what else is in Asia? THE YETI AHHH!!!!!!!! (Please say that like this). Stacey, how I love thee.
So we headed over to the forbidden mountain.

949qu.jpg

950h.jpg

951ws.jpg

953d.jpg

Unfortunately, it wasn’t yeti time quite yet because we got Fastpasses for 11:40-12:40.
952yo.jpg

We headed into Dinoland, but on the way, I noticed that there was a Nemo show in about five minutes, so we headed into the theater. Mum didn’t have her glasses (she is as blind as a bat) so she wanted to sit more up front, so why the crap not sit in the front row?! The only problem about sitting there was that we couldn’t see anything that comes out on the second level of the stage, like for example, when Nigel (the pelican) comes out. But all of the puppeteers, actors, or whatever you want to call them, kept smiling at us and coming right over to us. Reason #8468962682 why front row is awesome.

It was my second time seeing the show and like the first time, I loved it. It was Mum’s first time seeing it and she enjoyed it very much and thought it was very cute. I don’t know if “cute” would be a word to describe it, but she thinks everything is cute, so whatevs.

I would recommend seeing it, because of one 1) it’s a wonderful show, 2) it gets you out of the heat and 3) you will have “The Big Blue World” stuck in your head for the rest of the day, like we did, and we just enjoyed that so much…

It was almost 11:40 when we got out of the theater so we headed over to Expedition Everest and waited about five minutes because it wasn’t quite time to use our FPs yet. Finally, the clock thing turned to 11:40 and we hopped in line, aka one of the most AWESOME queues in all of Disney.

954sj.jpg

We only waited about five minutes to get on. Meanwhile in the stand by line, the wait time was 55 minutes.

When I was getting on, my camera crew captured me saying “It’s yeti time!” while I was holding two thumbs up. You might be wondering why a camera crew that follows me around. Well I haven’t said yet but I will have my own reality TV show called “Meg’s Mighty Awesome Life” that you can catch on MTV when Jersey Shore (and no, I don't watch Jersey Shore) goes off the air. My camera crew was just filming me around Disney to capture my vacation. I’m surprised no one has said anything yet because they are in all of my pictures of course, like this one.
captureigz.jpg

I mean my camera crew hides so much so they won’t be in my pictures that you probably don’t even see them. Like Camera Dude was hiding on the train so you probably just missed him at first.

People are probably going to turn their TVs on to MTV after Jersey Shore finishes so they can see my show.

Don’t be one of those people.

I'm so weird.

I bet all of you do wonder if I am on crack.

Anyways, we had a wonderful ride. When you go up the big hill, I love peeking over and seeing the whole WDW resort. I love how you can see all of the other parks from up there!

Once we got off, I tried to take our redneck ride photo but there were so many people gathered around the screens so I just didn’t bother.

We headed back over to Kali to see if it was back up and running and it was so we grabbed Fastpasses for 2:35-3:35.

It was a little after twelve so we decided to head over to Yak & yeti for our lunch ADR…

The update started out so normally....I was thinking there would be no strangeness in this one.....
hmmm...I know you're not on crack, so perhaps it is all the raw cookie dough you eat? Something in those raw eggs must be affecting you somehow. :confused3 :lmao:
I know I didn't drop you on your head when you were a baby! :upsidedow

You forgot to tell the tip when you are riding Everest, going backwards...lift up your feet and it almost feels like you are going upside down!

I agree! The animal kingdom attention to detail beats all others. To appreciate everything they have to offer you'd definitely need a minimum of three days just in that park. I wish we cod have taken the short lived boat ride before they took it out. I just know it would have been my second favorite thing, Everest would stay #1.
