Didn't get CRT lunch when I called this AM

This is my first strike out- we are arriving 10/7, and I wanted CM for dinner for 10/8 (which I got for 5:40, yippeee!). I was on hold with two phones for just over an hour before someone picked up. I figured I would try for CRT lunch also, so I would have something in case I didn't get it when I really wanted it. The CM told me that there were no more CRT breakfast or lunch ressies by about 7:30 AM. I guess I will just try every single morning and take whatever time I can get. I have 7 or 8 more shots, so hopefully I'll get lucky. I wonder if it filled up so quickly because today is Sun (nobody rushing to work), I was calling for a holiday weekend (Columbus Day-Sat), and people who are on the free dining from 10/4 are probably still making PS for this date. I hope that's the case, and that I will have better luck tommorrow or the rest of the week. I was a bit (and I mean a miniscule) lax about calling at 6:58. I think I got in at 6:59. Guess I should try harder. ANy suggestions, or anyone cancelling?

Keep trying it took me 5 days to get our ADR for CRT. Just don't give up and keep trying. These ADR do go VERY fast it's not ust because it's Sunday. They are usually all gone by 7:30 am at the latest. PIXIE DUST to you!

Keep Trying!!! It took 4 days of calling at 6:58 to get Breakfast in the Castle! Lots of pixie dust worked for me!

I think I will be trying for a CRT lunch next week. It's one of those things I didn't think we wanted to do, but now that I have had time to consider it I think it would be fun. I am really wanting the lunch for the Friday of our trip, but I am going to see if I can get one for the Tuesday and then cancel it if we do manage to get Friday. We'll be in MK both days, it just fits the schedule better on Friday.

I hope we don't end up holding for an hour! But at least with the time difference even if it IS an hour I won't have to drive to work with the cell phone glued to my ear! I would be holding from 6 AM-7 AM.

I agree that your dates probably have a lot of people on Free Dining, which is making it harder. We arrive on 10/14, so I am hoping that by 10/18 most of the free dining and Columbus Day folks will be gone and I can get CRT lunch!

Don't give up! People juggle their plans all the time. I know I will probably be changing our ADR's around from 90 days until the plane leaves the ground, so there is always hope!

I have always started calling at around 6:57 and used at least 2 (a few times 3!) phones. (Always been answered before 7am!) Pixie dust to you for getting it for another day of your trip!!!

Hang in there, just try first thing in the morning. Our 90 day window fell on a Monday and I started calling at 6:55 and was answered before 7! So good luck!

I suggest subscribing to tourguidemike.com He has a whole section on how to get CRT. I could have had it every day of my vacation if I had wanted it by following his advice. I was through to a CRO person by 7:01 every day.

You have to get in asap right when it opens. Otherwise, you're on hold for a long time.

Just start calling about 3 minutes early. If you get the closed message, hang up, push redial. Keep doing this till it answers. Then get through the button pressing as fast as you can.
But I totally choked on this step on my CRT day and got it anyway. The key is to get in right at the opening. Even 2 or 3 minutes past it and you're waiting.

Good luck to all of you trying for CRT.
You all might already know this already, but if you don't - when you dial and start calling around 6:58, when you finally get through, hit "1" and then "1" again to cut through all the questions they ask you about no. of visits, phone no., etc. This means you get through faster. I know I'll sound like a mutant, but what I do is (as soon as I get the msg. that they are open) I start hitting 1 and then 1 again through the whole opening message- it will only let you through at a certain point in the message, but I figure it can't hurt- although I admit I felt pretty silly hitting 11 over and over again while listening to the message!

I agree with Dorisk3's method! I did the 1,1 combo for all my adr's this past week and got all the times/places I wanted. Was off the phone by 7:05 almost everytime.

I don't know how I did it, but yesterday morning I got through at about 7:35 AM and got lunch. This morning I got through at 7:15 AM and got breakfast at CRT. I'm not sure what I should do really. I tried so hard to get this on my last trip that I don't know if I should give it up. My daughter certainly doesn't want to and we are even doing dinner at 1900 Park Faire one night too. Cinderella overload here I come..... : )

Maybe we can coordinate calls, so if you cancel, I can try to pick it up. We have done the breakfast already 3 or 4 times in past years, so we would prefer the lunch. I wanted the lunch for DD2 as a change. BTW- we have done the Cinderella dinner at the GF, and it was great both foodwise and characters. If we were on some kind of dining plan, we would be tempted to do all the princess meals again in Oct, but we are paying for them all on our own, so we are trying to only do CRT, CM, and CP. Thanks!

Definitely keep trying even weeks from now. In the last two days I have gotten (and cancelled some) CRT lunch, CRT breakfast and PSB breakfast for Aug 14-17 (32 days away). The CRT lunch has several openings according to the CM as did PSB breakfast. I don't know if the cancellations are high here lately or what, but it may be worth a try. Perhaps even try when EMHs are released as that may be when people are finalizing plans. Good luck!

I asked DH to set the alarm for 6:45, but we had a power outage last week that messed up the tv's time (we use the tv alarm), and it went off at 6:59 instead. I jumped up and frantically began dialing, to which I was awarded with some weird telephone message about a 5 digit code. Hung up & redialed, ended up on hold till about 7:36, grasping on to that slim thread of hope that there was one little old table left for us......nope. Made a back up PS at Princess lunch at Epcot (don't want to be kicking myself later when I realize I should've taken the CM's advice to make a PS so I would at least have the stinky fishy Princess lunch to look forward to!). I am determined to try DH's atomic weather clock alarm tommorrow morning, because DD16 needs to be dropped off by 8 each morning, and I can't be on hold for more than, say, 40 minutes each morning. I just finished watching Lemony Snicket (sp), and wonder if I can learn something from Count Olaf in trying to get PS and discounts???? I could use his help about now!
