I personally think getting to a park an hour+ to wait for it to open to avoid a wait later is silly. Wait in line to not wait in line.

The difference is the hour wait before the park opens you are not wasting open park time during the wait. Yes, it's the same length of wait, but you wouldn't be able to do anything else before the park opens anyway. Waiting the hour or whatever after the park is open takes away time you could be riding several other rides.
