I've been losing weight for about 1 1/2 yrs. DH joined me about 7 mos. ago. I lost over 65 lbs. & he lost about 45 lbs. We didn't gain weight over the holidays and I'm starting to truly believe that we've adopted a new way of eating/living, rather than dieting. We exercised throughout and still ate sensible meals surrounding our celebration meals, where we indulged ourselves. We both drank wine, ate some desserts and savored some high-carb treats for Christmas day. I did a little baking, mostly for DSs (16 & 9) and made sure that any really tempting treats were made at times when we would share them with friends & family. I feel relieved that the holidays are over and now I know that we can treat ourselves, without a huge weight gain. On to Valentine's Day. I'm thinking chocolate covered strawberries!
I just joined the WISHers yesterday--I'm trying to maintain a @110 lb. loss. I'm trying to remember portion control and daily exercise at this point, but I'm still tempted to eat a whole plate of cookies instead of just one!
I just finished exercising, too--had to really force myself this morning, as I was Just NOT in the mood. Always glad afterwards. tho'! Once again, a big GREAT JOB for making it through a hard time of the year! Now...pass those chocolate covered strawberries!
