Did your kids or family outgrow Disney?

I don't know if they have out grown Disney, but they don't ask to go. They want to go to Alaska, Iceland, and the Med. They are 10 and 12. I'm sure they would be happy with another Disney trip, but there are other things they want to do more. I wish I had the money for WDW plus all the cruises they want to do, but a trip to WDW these days cost about as much as going to Europe.

They would also choose Universal hands down over WDW now. Universal is not a six flags like one PP poster stated. The technology on the Universal rides is so much better than anything WDW has to offer. That being said I love Epcot and the whole Disney atmosphere. It's just not in cards for us over the next few years.

Thanks again all for the replies.:thumbsup2

I'm interested to see how we like cruising as a family. Our first family cruise is set for Dec! :cool1:

My wife and I have done a couple of cruises in the last few years with other couples, but no kids. Awesome times.

I know the kids are going to love cruising, so I'm interested to see what their vacation decisions are going to be in the coming years.

I'm the only one in my family still interested in going to Disney. Cruising is not an option for my family - my husband says no way to that.

So most likely from now on, family trips will be other places than Disney. That's fine with me - our last disney family trip was just ok - not really alot of fun. I'm sure part of that was grumpy family members and another part was FP+ nonsense and not so great ADR's.

I will still be going once a year solo instead of twice a year solo since my oldest is in college and I can't afford to go solo twice a year anymore.

Not sure if we outgrew it. We still love it, it's just no longer first.

We've found :
Other places are just as magical.
As far as quality, other venues have caught up.
Big planet out there
A lot of the recent changes don't fit our family.

We use to go annually for at least 7 days, now after a long weekend we're done, we used to love the food, now we eat primarily offsite.

I wouldn't say we have outgrown Disney, but it never was our 'go to' vacation and we did many other things in other years - visiting national parks in Maine, Montana, Nevada, Arizona, family cabin in Wisconsin, cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean. DS is 22 and had a long spell between ages 14 and 21 when he wasn't at WDW, after last summer he probably won't go again for a while. Older DD (24) goes to places like Turkey and Vietnam for her vacations, she met us for 3 nights at WDW last summer and won't be there for a while either. Youngest DD and I want to get to Diagon Alley next. I did Disney solo in May and DH and I are going in December. I just bought DH a 10 day non-expiring ticket asuming we will have several short trips over the years. Whether kids will be able to join us remains to be seen.
