Did Your Boss Do Anything for Administrative Professional Day

We were treated to a fabulous potluck lunch and we each got a card with a gift. I got the best card ever. The front shows a woman reading a card with a balloon that says, " "Happy Administrative Professionals Day!" What are all these pieces of paper?" The group standing around her replies, "Those are our travel reimbursements. Can you enter those for us when you get a chance?" :lmao: The inside says, "Thanks for putting up with us. You're a saint."

It was SO appropriate since I do their travel reimbursements. Someone asked if they had it made specially for me. :rotfl:

I've been here for over 7 years. At first, I got bouquets of flowers, nice cards signed by all in the office, and was even taken to lunch once. The last 2 years in a row, nothing.

This year, the boss called me over my phone intercom (small office) and said Happy Administration () Day and asked me if I'd like to go out to lunch. I declined because I have a sick dog at home, and I typically go home at lunch to let him out, etc.

So ... in a nutshell, nothing!

I have alot of bosses, but my immediate supervisor brought me a box of Whitman's chocolates. I was touched that he thought of it! :goodvibes

I had an amazing boss a few years ago who would give ,me $200 cash and always said, make sure you buy yourself something and dont spend in on the kids lolol.. I miss that job and boss.

On the other hand, you turned down lunch.

My boss gave each of us a gift bag stuffed full of goodies this year. A bag with a caramel corn trail mix, a nice jarred candle, a bar of oatmeal soap, and a few other assorted items. :thumbsup2 I love my boss!

My company did nothing for our administrative professionals. I tried to argue in favor of a lunch at least. There are four admins right now and four financial planners. Two of the financial planners own the business and make decisions like what to do for admin professionals day. They opted to do nothing. The other financial planner and i did bring in some cookies and donuts in the morning to try to say thanks to the ladies who make us look good! We also got each of them a small bouquet.

I work in a company with 70 people owned by one guy who pays all the bills. I am second in command. We did nothing. But I am not sure the employees understand that the owner is putting in significant money to keep the place running and not cut people. I am on a salary deferral and only getting half my pay so I had no extra money to do anything. So for those of you that didn't get anything, there may be more to the story then you know.

It is also tricky to know who is and isn't an admin these days. I wouldn't want to insult anyone. We have no one with the title admin, but we do have receptionists.

We don't have any "assistants" just coordinators so I bought flowers for them.

Nope. But it's only my boss and I in the office. She got me something the first year I worked for her, on Administration Professional Day, but not since then. It doesn't bother me in the least. It's basically just a Hallmark day anyways. I don't get her anything for Boss's Day either.
