I need some current information about Tony's Town Square in MK.

DBF and I are fine with eating all types of Italian food, authentic and Americanized versions, and we were interested in visiting Tony's Town Square. The calamari, chicken parm, and shrimp scampi dishes sound yummy (plus we couldn't get in to Mama Melroses at DHS this year).

Do you know where Tony's is located? I can't find Tony's on the maps that I have; how do you get to it, and is there anything special about it that we should know? If you've eaten there in the past year, I'd love to read your experiences or even see actual pics of the food (the BEST part!) if you have any that you can share. :rotfl2:

Thanks!

As you walk into Magic Kingdom through the entrance on the far right, Tony's Town Square is directly to your right. My family and I ate there last December, the food is pretty good, but the butternut squash soup was to die for :thumbsup2 If you do not mind noise then Tony's is a good spot to eat. Can be a bit crowded at times and the waits can be extremely long. Last December we waited about an hour before we were seated and that was with reservations.:wizard:

think there's been a few bad reviews lately, but i enjoyed it on my last visit.
the Seafood Diavoli(yea i had to go look the name up to copy/paste it) was great at the time.
compared to the other Italian restaurants at the world, ive only ever eaten at mama melrose and tony's to me as just 1 step down below mama's that trip.

got tony's reserved for this upcoming trip next week for the night im at the halloween party. got 1 very very long day at mk scheduled with a 8gb card ready for just pictures at mk!

we've eaten at tony's twice and have enjoyed it thoroughly. it's not the best restaurant in disneyworld, but it is good and has a large outdoor patio if the weather is appropriate. i would go back.

the food is american style italian, not really authentic italian.

Is it located next to Exposition Hall / the gift shops? I am still confused as to its location. I should be more observant... :rolleyes1

We don't mind crowds or noise even though it's just the two of us -- it is the MK after all. BUT a long wait (over 20 minutes) even with a reservation is another issue. If you don't mind, did you have lunch or dinner at Tony's?

The Seafood Diavoli is just on the Dinner menu, and it sounds absolutely delicious... except I don't like clams and mussels  Would the Disney kitchen at Tony's be able to prepare this entree without clams and mussels? (Is that considered a special request that requires a multiple day notice? I don't know. :confused3 ) If so, I would love to have for dinner or the Shrimp Scampi linguini for lunch. DBF also found a few things he would like to try. Does anyone have pictures of Tony's food (adult portions)?

Your post reminds me that I will need to buy a larger GB memory card so I don't need to dump the pictures from my camera into my laptop all of the time.

Good to hear that you would go back! Yes, I am not expecting it to be the best restaurant at WDW; we are even satisfied with CS resort food. We just hope that the meal is still warm and tasty! Not an edible meal; who wants that? :rotfl:

It has an outdoor patio? (How did I miss this?) How does the patio compare to the other seating areas inside Tony's? Any pictures of the food or the atmosphere in this restaurant would be helpful. :3dglasses

Thanks!

We ate there one of my first visits (around the late 80s, early 90s)

My grandmother had nothing but negative things to say about them (small portions, really expensive calzones, etc. not to mention the service stunk -- but I didn't care apparently, I was just so excited to be in Disney :thumbsup2 ) So we haven't been there since. I decided on going back, but you will be in WDW before us. So let me know how it is, please?

I ate there 3 years ago before the MVMHP (Halloween day) and we liked it enough that will will go back again:)

Tony's is in the same building as Exposition Hall- go in the entrance to the building and veer left.

We've eaten there on our last 3 visits to MK. The food is good, not great. We're not eating there when we return in Feb., but that's because we want to do some new places.

If possible, ask for a table outside- it's not quiet, but it's Main St. noise you hear and not restaurant noise.

As soon as you enter the park it's on the right. Tony's is great :thumbsup2

We just ate there last week. We waited only a few minutes with a reservation (enough time to take a 4 year old to the bathroom). Our dinners were good. I think it was the only restaurant that the boys ate all their dinner. My husband got the seafood diavoili too! He liked it. Not the best he'd ever eaten, but very good. I just ate spaghetti (I'm a picky eater) and it was delicious. Our service wasn't bad - it was a bit slow, but not bad. It is definitely loud though. One of the louder restaurants we ate at. They also do lots of celebrations - the table next to us was celebrating their son losing his first tooth???:confused3 - so that contributes to the noise. My SIL and niece went later in the week and LOVED it!

So we will defnitely go back again. Hope that helps!

We just ate here on Sunday. We love italian...any kind and we're not picky eaters at all. I got the chicken parm and it was not good at all. Completely bland. I ate more of my pasta than my chicken, it was just ok. BF had the NY Strip and hand nothing but negative things to say about it. DS had the cheeseburger calzone and that was just weird. It was very loud and our server was an older lady and was confused very easily. Our sons food was not brought out until after we had finished our food. And we had to ask for it. I would not recommend this restaurant at all.
The only thing that was good was the cheesecake...amazing!!!

We were there in May and had the exact same experience. The chicken parmesan was dry and bland. DH, who will normally eat anything, wouldn't finish it. His minnestrone was also bland.

I had the Bianca flatbread which was delicious. I also LOVED the no sugar sorbet. It was amazing!

Service was middling--great assistant server, slow/disinterested main server.

In general I think it's a middle-of-the road WDW restaurants. Given the dining options at MK, you could do worse.

We had dinner at Tony's on Sept 20. We both had the chicken parm and thought it was ok. We were seated in the enclosed porch and enjoyed looking out at Main St. Our reservations were for 5:00 and we were among the first seated. Service was good. The waiting area was full by the time we finished dinner so I was glad we had an early reservation.

I recently had both the calamri and shrimp scampi and both were good (I actually liked the veggies in the dish better than the shrimp...lots of sun dried tomatoes...mmmm!). Hubby was only neutral on his food...I can't remember what he ate. Overall it didn't wow us. I'd only go if it was convenient because I thought the prices were high for what we got. It's okay, just not one of our faves.

We ate there in May and I have to just give it a

"Meh..."

We have spent a lot of time in Italy as my sister lives there, and I think that coloured my view however.

We were just there on 9/25. Our ressie was for 6:25, we arrived at 6:15. We were seated at around 7pm. DH, DS, and I had the NY strip, it was pretty good. DS had a cream of mushroom soup, also pretty good. My highlight was the tiramisu, and DH's pistachio creme brulee. Service was slow. Overall it wasn't bad.

We used to eat at Tony's often. Then the few went downhill. After several years of not eating there,we tried it again 2 years ago and we LOVED it. Tony's is now a must do on every trip. I especially love the Eggplant Catasta.
The Lemon cake is delicious too.

We pretty much eat here everytime we are in WDW. The only think I can complain about it that this past time we were there I ordered the Eggplant dinner and they had changed it. It was as good as it used to be, but it still was good. We have eaten here with just me and DH, then with parties of 4, 7, and 10. The service has always been amazing (must have been very lucky with our servers). Last year when we went, our drinks were never empty. We would have about a quarter of our drinks left and there would be another one there.

We are going back in November, hope it's still good!!!

We ate here at the end of August.

Food was just okay - but pricey for what you got.

Dessert was our favorite part - Tirimisu and the Lemon walnut cake were yummy!

We won't be back any time soon. Place wasn't terrible, but with so many places to eat at Disney, we'll probably try somewhere else next time.

We were there this past friday. I really wanted to go because Lady and the Tramp is my favorite Disney movie. I was pretty disappointed in the meal. It wasn't bad, just very bland. Even my tiramisu had zero flavor :sad1: The service was pretty good except for the fact that the waiter mentioned gratuity about 5 times. That is something that really annoys me when I go out to eat. We won't go back on our next trip.
