When we went in October (week before Columbus Day) we did use SDFP. Only one day I had some troubles finding anything good, that was our first MK day. There were slim pickings even at rope drop but I did find a couple time savers. The kiosks seem super slow and laggy to my millennial mind so I'm always impatient with it. Other than that, just grab what you can but you can't change it on your phone. I mixed up my advice and found that out the hard way.
One fun thing happened on our AK day, though. We were there for rope drop and the kiosks are readily available on the island. As I was grabbing our SDFP, a CM came up and asked if we needed help. I declined, saying I pretty much knew what to do. She then asked my son to test out the other kiosks with his band, to make sure they were working properly. After he helped her, she gave him an anytime fast pass for being so polite and helpful. Unfortunately for us, it was the day that the parks closed early for Hurricane Matthew and we didn't really need it, so we gave it away. So keep an eye out for those CMs that are starting up those machines, especially if you have a cute little one in tow.
Because this thread is confusing to many DISers, closing for now (it's too large to Merge) and referring those interested to post on the SDFP thread that has been linked in this thread by a PP.
