Did you talk to your kids while they were in the womb?

DH and I don't really but I'm a teacher and I talk a LOT so I figure he's going to come out knowing my voice. Ever so often DH will say something to him but I guess we are really not that type, I think we both feel a little silly. My DSIL talks to him every time she sees me.

I know he will know our voices and we listen to music all the time so I don't feel that I have to play certain music for him. He's going to know all the Disney songs by heart at birth!

However, and I had to LOL, my friend is expecting too and she and her DH talk to the twins all the time, she tells me he will use his "talking to a baby" voice and tell them he's their daddy and he loves them, etc. When my DH talks to Thor he says things like "Thor, this is your father" in his best Darth Vader voice. It really cracks me up and says a lot for our sense of humor.

I never talked to my girls just my son to tell him to knock off all that kicking!!

I did. I also told him to move sometimes so I wouldn't have to have a stress test. Of course, he saved up all his energy because he is ADHD. Where was that energy when he was in me?

Oh yeah! "Quit jumping on my bladder!" or "Aren't you ready to come out yet?"

Yes, I talked to all three of them! No, not triplets...one at a time;)

I also played music. The oldest two loved jazz and my third one loved any type of music.

My DD's fave performer right now, Norah Jones!

Yep, I used to talk to my two. I think it's soothing for the baby too.:)

Yes. I even sang songs to them and they knew those songs after they were born. Oh, I rocked them before they were born, too.

I have a sweet story. When DS was born he was in intensive care for a few days. His lungs were not fully developed and he had trouble breathing on his own. I didn't even get to hold him until he was 3 days old.

When I would walk to the nursery and talk to him, his heart rate would slow down and the oxygen would increase in his blood. The nurses had me watch the numbers on the machines. There was no doubt that he knew my voice and his daddy's voice too.

I was in a community theatre production when pregnant with DD and there were certain songs she clearly "liked" because she'd kick up a storm!!!!

I only had one child and I talked to him throughout my entire pregnancy. Not only that but I read to him and played music just for the two of us :)

Yes, I talked a little. In fact on a Tues night at 8:00pm, I told DS if he doesnt hurry up and come out he will miss Christmas and presents, etc... 2:30 am, Wed morning my water broke, and I had him at 8:41am. At least he listened to me back then. ;)

I always did throughout both my pregnancies! :) I always played music as well and when I was pregnant with Savannah, Andrew and I sang to her! :)

What nice thoughts here, thanks for sharing your times with your babies. Great question, Sonya.

For both of my children I would talk and sing to them. Sometimes while I rubbed my belly. My DH also talked to them a lot too. And we are a musical family so we are always listening to music. My DD is very musically inclined and I think what I did while I was pregnant with her might have contributed to that.:)

Yes, inspirational quotes - for example:

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be NICE.

and

People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot - you need to play MOZART. The real stuff, too. Not that annoying midi music that I hear so often from my computer. :)

yes, but even then they didn't listen to me.....

LOL

My DH talks to the baby...right through my belly button! :p
