VIP Cruise on Grand I Yacht – a 45-foot Sea Ray yacht staffed by a captain and deckhand, 18 guests maximum, available at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, $1022.40 for a 2 hour minimum booking. Must call (407)-824-2682 to book.

I already have this reserved for 1 hour!!! What's going to happen with my reservation now????

I heard that with the other specialty cruises that even if you booked it prior to the increase that it would apply to you at the time of docking!!! Now what am I going to do???

Seriously, I am so fed up with Disney!!! All these months stressing out.. what if I don't get this reservation, or what if I don't get that.. because even though you're having a wedding, you're still making reservations as any other guest. Now, they throw me THIS curveball after FINALLY everything is booked and I thought settled??? What's next??? 'Ohana will close for renovations?!??!

If people hadn't booked their flights I swear I'd get married somewhere else at this point!!! I'm so totally fed up. I'm e-mailing my planner first thing in the morning. I'm so tired of this.

Well, this is awful! I'm sooo sorry...

I would hope that because you already booked and it's for your wedding they honor the price they gave you? have you paid already?

I'm really sorry!

That's the "gotcha" in this case! My reservation is held with my credit card but they don't actually charge it until you show up at the dock.

Oh wow...I'm in the same boat as you...no pun intended. I suppose I would pay it if I have to...but damn...

I'll be calling tomorrow to find out whats up...I think only WDWinfo.com is reporting this so far.

I was on the phone with them at 4pm PT today and was told the price had "only" gone up to $490-something (left my notes at work) per hour with NO mention of a 2-hour minimum. She had to look up the price, and the computer gave her the price of one hour, so I would assume that means you can still book just one hour.

What is interesting is, I emailed WDWinfo.com with the new price, along with the new prices for IllumiNations & Wishes Cruises, and now, just a few hours later, I see that all the prices on their site have been updated: http://www.wdwinfo.com/recreation/fireworks.htm (I'm assuming this is where you saw the price change.)

I wonder if they called 407-WDW-PLAY to verify my info and got someone who erroneously told them the Grand 1 has a 2-hour minimum. In the past, they have only required a 2-hour minimum at the holidays, so I could see how they might be confused. Here's hoping that's what happened and there's not really a 2-hour minimum...

I'll investigate tomorrow when the phone lines open up again....:magnify:

Lurkyloo, I know you hear this alot, but you are a beast when it comes to finding WDW info. You really should work for them. I hope your still on the scene when I get married!

Sorry to pirate: OP!

Thanks so much, Carrie. Hopefully, we can get some straight answers on this because I don't mind paying the increase - but the 2 hour minimum would totally kill my budget. :confused3

I was totally freaking out last night. Thanks for letting me vent!

OK, so I called 407-WDW-Info again this morning and confirmed that you can still rent the Grand 1 for a single hour. I think the folks at wdwinfo.com talked to someone who was confused about the 2-hour minimum Disney imposes at the holidays.

The bad news is that you will pay whatever the hourly rate is at the time of your cruise, and that's now $490. :sad2:

Chewy!!! :rotfl: That was totally random!

Thanks for calling and finding that out, Carrie! I can definitely deal with the $490 no problem but the 2-hour minimum would've really made things difficult. Hopefully wdwinfo.com can straighten out their info before they make other Bridezillas freak out.
