Hi there-
I'm 21 now, but a month after my 18th birthday, I took a trip to Disney with my 17 yo best friend and her 16 yo sister. We went without our parents to FL for 2 weeks and stayed off property. We are pretty independent chicks and took shuttles or cabs to the parks every day, staying until close every day. In the 2 weeks we were in FL, we never had any problems in the parks, and the one problem that we did have was @ our hotel and had nothing to do with our age. I think its just important to have very definite scheduled meetups and meeting places as well as cell phones.

Can you please tell me if you have roamed alone at night and how old you were allowed to do that at? I was 16 the first time I was allowed off on my own/with a friend.

Also, what time were you supposed to be back at the resort or meet your parents by? We always had ADRs, so we always planned to meet a half hour prior to those if we had split up for the day.

Did you go to one park while your parents were at another? No. We were always in the same park.

Did you stay at your resort alone while your parents went to dinner? I always go to dinner with my parents, but they allow me to pretty much go where I want within the resort. I can go to the pool, the gift shop, whatever.

I have no siblings, though, so I rarely roam because Disney just isn't that much fun by oneself!

Can you please tell me if you have roamed alone at night and how old you were allowed to do that at? Im 14 and Im allowed to roam alone at night if I stay close to the resort or where my parents are. I think I was 11 or 12 when I was first allowed to do this

Also, what time were you supposed to be back at the resort or meet your parents by?My parents usually never give me a set time as long as I keep in touch

Did you go to one park while your parents were at another? No, I dont think I would be allowed to and I would never want to

Did you stay at your resort alone while your parents went to dinner? My parents have never gone to dinner without me at disney

well i started going out on my own ( never at night or at the hotel alone) when i was 12 maybe and i have been to another park without my parents

but every time i meet my parents for dinner or lunch or what ever, sometimes i call just to let them know where i am at the time, and that would be good so u dont worry, just say "call me every once and a while just to let me know how u r doing"

but they r 15 & 16 so i think they can go to the parks by themselves and they will be with friends right?

hope that helped:)

When I was 15, I went with my two friends who were 16. We did all the parks together with no parental supervision. At the end of the night, their Mom came and picked us up and took us home.

Also, what time were you supposed to be back at the resort or meet your parents by?
We met up with their Mom a few hours before park closing. It was just a case of whenever we wanted to leave.

Did you go to one park while your parents were at another?
No parents were with us.

Did you stay at your resort alone while your parents went to dinner?
No, but how different is that from staying home when they go out to eat? :p

My Mom trusts me and knows I know Disney really well and what to do in emergencies.

Mom used to work at Disney, Dad still does, they don't really want to go to the parks since they've been there sooo much and it's just tiring nowadays for them. :p As long as they know I have my phone, they're fine with me going alone with friends.

I am 16. I have been allowed to go places within the resort with my older sister (now 19) since I was 12. This past august was the first time I was allowed to go somewhere with my younger sister (14) without my parents or older sister. We went to the arcade at the Contemporary from the FW cabins. Another day, we went to the magic kingdom for part of the day, and later transferred to EPCOT by ourselves when the rest of the family went back to the cabin. My mom isn't that comfortable with the bus system yet, as this was our first stay on property, so if we weren't staying at FW/WL/Contemporary/Polynesian/GF, I don't know if she would have allowed this much that easily.

Hi guys :goodvibes
I'm a mom of two teen girls, 15 & 16, and we're going down with them and two of their friends. They're older now and I know I was roaming around the theme parks with my sister when I was that age, but not at night.

Can you please tell me if you have roamed alone at night and how old you were allowed to do that at?

Also, what time were you supposed to be back at the resort or meet your parents by?

Did you go to one park while your parents were at another?

Did you stay at your resort alone while your parents went to dinner?

The reason I ask these questions is because, like I said, we will have two other girls with us and I just want to let their parents know what the "norm" is down at Disney.

I appreciate your answers, thank you :goodvibes

Hi I am 14 years old my girl scout troop will be going in June and we are going to be splitting off from the adults. There are four of us and we do have some rules we can't just go crazy but we are pretty mature and we have two 17 year olds in our group but here are to answer some of your questions

1. 14 and I haven't yet but we will be in June
2. We have to be back at the Resort 30 minutes after extra magic hour is over unless transportation is taking longer than that but we have to call and tell them
3. Yes we are going to be allowed to park hop if we want to leave the park they are in
4. I have never stayed at the resort while parents went to dinner but my parents would let me. They tend to take me wherever there eating.

So yah we just have to call if we leave the park there in and make contact so they know we are alright

I'm allowed to go off alone. I tend to if I want to do something anyway. I've been doing so for a few years, and I am 16 now.

I tend to stay with my family a lot though. I love spending time with the family at Disney, just, not many other places :P

i haven't been since 3 years ago wen i was 8 and i couldn't go then and last time i went for my 12th birthday was just with my mom and dad cuz my brothers and sisters are : 19, 20, 24, 29 so they didn't come and its boring alone.
i would be aloud this time (just after my 13th birthday) but im going with just my parents so no point

Hi. I am 15, and my parents are extremely protective.... buuut if my parents felt comfortable with letting me go off anywhere it would be Disney. I have been in the Disnyeland park alone at night... but my parents were in the same park. I would say as long as you let them go in groups... I agree with whoever said they chose to stay with their parents. I think Disney is such a family thing, and I like spending the time with them. I probably wouldn't ride a bus alone for sure.. you just never know...I would stay in the same park. :)

My sister and I often leave the resort and head to the park before my parents (Mom likes to primp and dad likes to workout), but we typically meet up later in the day. We've also gone to some late EMHs without our parents (til 4am at MK!). However, we were taking the monorail from our resort to the park, and we only went to MK and Epcot unattended.

Most of the time, when we're on vacation with our family, we stay with our parents. However, this is a vacation with friends, so it's a good idea to give them a little time by themselves. Keep in contact by cell phone and arrange to meet for ADRs and fireworks/parades/shows. And I recommend going to the same park each day - it makes it much easier to meet back up in case of an emergency.

i dont raom alone, but thats because my mom is very structured, and i dont find it fun or enjoyavle to be by myself. when we went with friends me and the son my age (we were 11&10) were allowed to wait in line for food, sit and eat, hang out by the pool by ourselves but well within our parents range. i dont think there shoudl be a problem with it but just make sure that you have set times for everything and that they know how to handle themselves around strange people and the rules that you'll have.

i was definately allowed to roam when I was 16 and 17. (I'm 18 now) last time I went it was choir tour and the chaperones just let us come in and out as we pleased as long as we were back by curfew.

for me, i went down for my bday with my cousins and some of one of my cousins friends.

well lucky me, my female cousin decides flying home to another state to break up with her boyfriend whose been lying to her is a MUCH better thing to do then be with me on my birthday, especially since shes one of the only people that could go

then my other cousin [her brother] and his friends didnt want to stay because they go to disneyland all the time, so they left

i was feeling pretty pathetic and upset, so i just went back to the hotel after only being in disneyland for a few hours :[

BUT my mom probably would have let me be in disneyland alone for as long as i wanted, but i wasnt up to it

that was my 17th birthday and the park was gonna be open til 12, but my self pitty got the best of me, plus i didnt want them to say 'how many in your party' and i had to simply say 1 lol

oh and if it helps my female cousin was also 17, and with my original plans she would have been the oldest with us, but her brother and his friends came in at the last minute

I just turned 15, on my last 3 trips I was 14.
I was given the option to go around Disney with my 12 year old brother, I just chose not to usually because I liked spending time with the entire family more.

Yes, I was able to do the parks alone/with a sibling or friend.
now, i am 15. but i was roaming with my sister since i was about 13 and my sister was 16. =)
