I've been on the safari a few times, but not since the made the changes. I don't know if that makes the ride itself any different.

For those of you who went to AK while pregnant...

Did you ride the safari?

What are your thoughts on it?

How far along were you?

Thanks!

Yes. I think I was about 7 months along. I might have rode it at another time too while pregnant when I was about 2 months along. I don't remember. It was bumpy. I didn't think it was bad but it may be too much for some. I had rode it before I was pregnant and didn't remember it being such a bumpy ride but it probably was. I think it is okay if you are not having any complications. It is kind of jerky.

Yes I rode the safari when I was pregnant with my youngest. I was right around 6 months pregnant. I had no problems. I even talked to my Dr before I went and asked how she felt. She said they were probably just worried because it might be a little bumbpy. But I didn't see any issues. I didn't think it was any worse then some of the snow and ice covered roads I ride on durring our winter. Especially since my city stinks at plowing them. :rotfl:
If you have an issues I might not ride it. But if your pregnancy is normal then I said there shouldn't be any issue. But I would still check with your Dr. first.

Yes. I was 37 weeks pregnant. I intend to ride it this trip too, and I'll be 32 weeks pregnant.

I rode it at 32 weeks....I just asked for the front seat which is a little less bumpy.

My doctor had okayed it though.

Nope - I was 4 months pregnant, and had a miscarriage approx. 6 months before, so I did not ride it at all. It discourages pregnant women from riding, so I wouldn't take a chance at all. Not that important to ride it...can be done again, baby is more important.

Yes, I rode it at 20 weeks. I sat in the front and kind of held myself above the seat when I could tell it was about to get bumpy.

I rode on the safari while I was about 4 months pregnant and didn't think that it was too bumpy. You can ask for a front seat if you want since it is supposed to be less bumpy in the front. I rode in the middle and it seemed o.k. to me. Use your own discretion though.

Yep I rode it at 8 weeks pregnant. Was the only ride I did that had a warning for pregnant women though, I've had rougher car rides then the Safari, so I would do it again without a problem.

I rode it at 11 weeks and held myself up when I thought it was a little bumpy. I had also spoken with my doctor. Like others have said talk to your doctor and be careful. You don't want to take any chances you are uncomfortable with.

Me too, at almost 6 months. I didn't think it was bad. I got more jostled around by my 5 year old driving on the Tomorrowland Speedway (which also has a warning for pregnant women)!;)

I think that the best course of action is always to talk to your doctor and know your own body. I was on my third very uneventful pregnancy, and my doctor agreed that some of the more mild rides would be fine.

Me too, I rode it a little over 7 months, I don't remember any problems. I talked to my dr first and they said not to worry. It was bumpy, but walking around in the heat of May was much worse. Remember to stay hydrated and fed.

I rode at 5 weeks with one pregnancy (didn't know I was pregnant yet), and then I rode it 9 weeks with another pregnancy. No problems.

I rode it at 6 months. The CM directed me to the front row, I didn't ask but I was fine with it.

Drive down any PA highway and you get thrown around more than the safari!

Did not ride it at 5 months or 6 months - didn't want to risk it. It's not a particularly rough ride, and as a PP said, I've been on bumpier roads. I'd check with your doctor.
