Did you push the weight limit?

I am curious to know how much you have pushed the weight limit on your strollers. What was their max and how much did your child weigh? Did you have them loaded down with other items? I am looking at double strollers but would love to hear about singles too! (Please include the brand.)

Haha! Dh and I laugh about this often when we sit a sit and stand. He just said last week while we were walking around the New England aquarium that the joovy was the best stroller we had!

I had 4 strollers with 3 kids which probably isn't much.

Our last stroller was the joovy sit and stand which I bought in 2006/7. The purpose of it was for Disney in 2008. Prior trips we took 1 stroller for 1 kid and 2 strollers for 2 kids but then the 3rd came. I figured my oldest would walk as she was 7 on that trip and when she was 15 mo all she wanted to do was walk around Epcot pushing her stroller.

Anyways, weight limit...it was a 2 kid stroller but all 3 of mine were in it. My oldest was 7 and maybe 50 lbs, my son was just shy of 5 and hovered just under 30 lbs and my 2 yo was probably 25 lbs. it was tough but it worked and squeezed around Epcot. I didnt use that stroller much after that but I knew going into it that the stroller was going to be doomed!

I did have a bag with wipes, etc....in the basket. I think my youngest was potty trained so I had the foldable toilet seat as well as the toilet seat covers. And we had water/drinks in the bottom too.

I did have a id size evenflo when everyone was loving their Macs but I didn't like the Mac because for me it wasn't the name I had to have. The evenflo I used had a big sunshade, great basket, dual cup holders for me, a tray for the child and it did recline but we aren't stroller napped and it closed so easily. That I bought in 2002. Ah...those were the days!

We purchased a double BOB jogging/off path stroller back when my son was born 5 years ago for what would fit then an almost 2 year old and baby. They are now 5 & 6 (almost 7) and that stroller still gets used and abused. We have used for many Smokey Mountain TN trail trips and three Disney and approaching later this week its 5 TN trip and soon 4th Disney trip. LOVE LOVE LOVE that stroller and their combined weight is right at 100 lbs. That thing pushed like butter and it was worth its weight in gold (about $600).

Now I'm sure someone will come along and say "that's too old for a child to be in a stroller" blah blah blah....

And my response for that would be, I can do twice as much and cover twice the distance on vacation with that stroller in tow :)

The thing to remember is that the stroller isn't going to collapse when you go over the weight limit but it becomes much more difficult to push. I could push my citi mini with one finger when my son was little, but once he hit the 50 lb weigh limit, it took 2 hands and some force to maneuver it!

My kids are 12 and 8 now so we have been out of strollers for years but I don't remember ever even knowing what the real weight limit was on the strollers after we researched and bought them lol. Like a pp I could always just tell I was getting to overloaded by the way the stroller pushed.

Thanks for all the replies. Just trying to figure out which stroller works well under extra weight! :D
