Our reception was over at 4 ish, we were home at about 5 ish.
My parents had a party post wedding at their house an hour from us. DH & I went to our house & did what a married couple should do....
Then we opened all our cards & what few gifts. My mother told me to call her when I got to a certain card because she was going to that wedding the following week & didn't want to over give (it was from my dad's cousin).
We put the money away & left the next am for 2 weeks & when we got back we deposited it.
I also was able to write all my TY cards on the plane to Hawaii. We live in CT so we went from Hartford to Atlanta to Honolulu. I had the outer envelopes already addressed so my dh had to reread what I wrote & then he was in charge of sealing them. One flight attendent said "that is a great idea."
I sent them from our honeymoon & I didn't have to worry about them. I did get a few straggler cards after the fact & I dreaded writing the TY's.
