Hi everyone,

I did a search and could not find anything on Garden Grill. Is this a bad sign? We are thinking of making lunch reservations there. I really do miss the family-style breakfast they used to do there and am hoping the lunch/dinner is just as good.

Thanks!

The food is pretty good and we've enjoyed it in the past. However, last year, we had a waitress who really rushed us through everything. I even said we were taking our time, but she was hovering around with our desserts when we were still eating our entrees. Unlike our other visits, we had to ask 3 times to see Mickey and when he showed up near the end of our meal, it was for about 5 seconds. Like any restaurant, it can have it's good and bad days. On the whole, I'd say it's a good choice. I think our experience last year was the exception rather than the rule.

Thanks Karla!

I am planning our Sept trip and trying to find some new places to dine. We always end up going to the same places.

We ate here in September (not our first time). It was good. Service was great. We did lunch instead of dinner. Kids have asked to go back again on the next trip.

We went last year for the first seating for lunch (around 11:30am) and loved it.

We ate there in February and we loved it. It was our first ever Character Meal and I'm dieing to do more.

We went there in December for the first time and it was wonderful! The "cast" was friendly and the characters really get into it, so it's kid-friendly.
The food was great as well, and for picky eaters, they have chicken and steak. They had fish as well.
It's a really awespme place and I really recomend it! :woohoo:

We went there in Sept and really liked it. The food was better than expected and we had tons of interaction with the characters. They even sat down in our booth and colored with my kids

Its my mom's favorite restaurant at disney for some reason. I like the food there and seeing mickey is a bonus. I'd definetly give it a try.

We always enjoy Garden Grill. I think it's my son's favorite. We'll be back end of May.

We thought is was okay, the food was nice but we didn't have the best waiter, he made us feel rushed and brought our dessert up literally as soon as we'd put our cutlery down! Wouldn't rush back, there are much nicer places to eat at WDW.

We've eaten here quite a few times. Always enjoy the food, and it's fun to watch the scenery change! And you have Mickey - what could be better?

We ate here two years ago during the unfortunate test menu. The food was not that great but the character interaction was amazing. From my understanding they have since switched back to the old menu so I think GG would be a safe choice.

It used to be our favorite. Everything used to be family style and absolutely delicious. We went back a couple years ago and they had changed the menu completely. It was not good. Last year we heard they were changing back to family style and got pretty excited. We were terribly disappointed. It was definitely not the same as it used to be. We will never go back. Maybe if we hadn't had such high expectations we would have liked it, but in comparing it to what it used to be several years ago, we were not impressed.

We have done a Christmas trip to WDW each year for several years now, and we always include lunch at the Garden Grill as one of our required stops. There are ten of us, and those big booths make it very comfortable and inviting. The family style food may not be gourmet, but it is very good and there is something for everyone. The revolving room is the big attraction, since the kids think it is cool to watch the scenery change as we dine. And of course, the characters are wonderful since you get to spend lots of time with them. They circle the revolving room several times during the meal and devote lots of personal attention to each table. If there is a birthday in your party, you get a little extra special attention, including a birthday card signed by all the characters. We have never had a bad server or any bad experiences in this restaurant and I have to assume that those people who had less than a great time just caught them on a rare bad day.

We picked this restaurant as DGD saw it revolves! She calls it the Spinning restaurant. We also have lunch ressiesand while I will be the only fish eater they will love steak and DGS I understand gets the kid choices which I bekieve include mac & cheese and that is his alltime favorite!!

OMG it was so bad. My family are all shouting do not go there! We were there last week. The food was just dreadful. Cold dry turkey with sour cranberries, horrible meat, large congealed mass of something truly scary. All I ate was the biscuit. The dessert was cheap and nasty pastry. What a waste of money. We have been there before a few years ago when it was ok but this was just terrible. If you want to see Mickey, try Chef Mickeys instead, we have always had good food there, although it has to be accepted that the food at character buffets is never up to the standard of non character meals.

My DH and I also went last September and loved it! :goodvibes

We must have been one of (or the last) sittings for lunch. Their weren't too many people in there, besides a rather large group from England. Our waiter was Nik and he was super! He talked with us a lot and helped us find a hidden Mickey. The food was good, and the characters were around a lot.

DH and I would definitely recommend it! Of course, everyone has their own experience, but I hope you enjoy it. :wizard:

This was the best dining experience of our trip last summer. Character interaction was wonderful! They all came multiple times and "played" with the kids. The privacy of the booths was a nice change, along with the scenery. The food was good, and instead of the normal dessert my ds9 got a birthday cake and card delivered by Dale. We loved it!

Garden Grill is one of my family's favorites and they ask to go back everytime we return to WDW. We have an upcoming trip in the works (Dec 2008) and when I asked which restaurants they would want to return to, Garden Grill was at the top of the list. :thumbsup2 Not only is the food good, but the character interaction and the service has been terrific everytime we go. You will have a wonderful time :goodvibes
