Did you know that JM Barrie made up the name Wendy for the Book Peter Pan?

I got this info in an email. Although I don't believe everything I read in emails....this one is

"Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back. It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter.

DO YOU KNOW...the difference between margarine and butter? Both have the same amount of calories. Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams. Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to ! a recent Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods. Butter has many nutritional ! benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added! Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods. Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years.

And now, for Margarine.... Very high in trans fatty acids. Triple risk of coronary heart disease. Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol). Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.

Lowers quality of breast milk. Decreases immune response. Decreases insulin response. And here's the most disturbing fact.... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING! Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC...." :confused3 Really???

Did you know that there are three words in the engish language that start with DW?

I just HAD to check this one out:

dwarf
dwell (dwelt, dwelling, dweller)
dweeb
Dwight
dwindle (dwindling, dwindled, etc)

Now you can argue that Dwight isn't a "word" (because it is a proper name), and maybe dweeb is stretching it a bit (as it is slang), but unless you consider dwelling a form of the word dwell, one could argue that there are at least four words that start with "dw".

In any event, I guess I learned something new today. :)

Did you know that Viagra was initially made as a heart drug? Trials went out and as a cardiac med, it failed horribly. But when reps went to collect remaining samples of the drug that had been distributed in the test, many older men REFUSED to return the samples. Upon questioning, they discovered their "failure" in the heart market turned out to be the "gold mine" of the...ummm...."love" market. :rotfl:

That when they repave roads, they'll put up "Do Not Pass" signs where there used to be changes in the passing line. Like when a line goes from double to single to dotted, you'll see a new sign. On one stretch of road you could see 15.

This way they know just how to restripe it.
