Did you know you can walk to the Four Seasons Resort?

On my recent trip 2 weeks ago, we decided to have dinner at Capa at the Four Season Resort next to Fort Wilderness.
We took the internal bus to Settlement Outpost, walked past the horse riding plaza and continued out the back gate.
There is a little access path, that takes to to an internal road at the Four Seasons.
We walked past the golf club (watched some deer!) and along a walking path to the mail hotel buiding.

We had a reservation at Capa, sat on the patio while we waited and had a tasty cocktail.
This is a Michelin One Star rated restaurant, and in my opinion it does not deserve a star. (I've eaten at many starred restos, and this isn't deserving). But that is post for another day.
The fireworks viewing is good though.

And just for fun, you should ask for waking directions on Google Maps. It's NOT what we followed

I've walked back along the canal a number of times and the gate was always closed to get over towards 4 Seasons. Sounds like it was a nice walk.

Yep, we knew that.

Although the up front bus depot in the Fort check-in area is simply named "Outpost Bus Depot". As fyi the "Settlement Bus Depot" is down by Bay Lake and Hoop Dee Doo (down in that area).

But yes, the paved sidewalk goes from the Outpost Bus Depot and the Horse Ride corral past the Horse Ride check-in building (the old FW pet kennel) and on past the back gate then across the road into the street system that is in the Four Seasons area. I think that particular sidewalk terminates at a cell phone tower/bldg but once you are in, it doesn't matter now does it?

I biked into that area from the Fort several years ago but since I really didn't care about anything past that point (Golden Oaks, Four Seasons, etc.) I turned around and went home back to the Fort.

We have some DIS Camping regular posters who have stayed at the Fort and eaten several times at the Four Seasons for several years past (and mentioned viewing the fireworks) and they have not mentioned walking over there because they run marathons and half-marathons so I guess they drive.

PS - But a well kept secret is that the best tasting food in that general area is at MY CAMPSITE (at least while I am there, that is).

PPS - and I double checked, it's barely over a half mile once you leave the Fort to get to nearest corner of the Four Seasons Resort building. Not far at all!

Yeah that's probably because a very short stretch of the walk from Fort Wilderness to the Four Seasons would require you to walk a portion of the golf course golf cart path (or near it) which is not designated for regular walking foot traffic - it's open to golfers and carts who paid the greens fees.

But I doubt they have a marshal on that piece of the course ready to ticket walkers headed to the resort. Nevertheless, it's NOT a valid general public walking path which is why Google would route you around to a publicly available way to get there. No surprise there.
