Did you know this was a restaurant?

I wouldn't recommend The Coral Reef for two children. It is overpriced, there really isn't much selection on the menu and you aren't guaranteed to sit right next to the aquarium while you eat.

I've heard many that like it there, but I definetly won't go back.... unless....

I just thought of something! You could go there for desert only... they have the best chocolate desert I've ever had. Plus, you could get the experience of eating there for less price. But as far as the normal selections go, not my favorite place.

Good luck!:)

Apparently the secret of the Plaza is out. This has always been our favorite place for a late lunch. With the size of the sandwiches and the delicious ice cream dinner is never needed. Best darn Reuben on property.

I have to say the Reuben sandwich is why I want to eat there. It seems alot of the food we eat at Disney is chicken fingers and fries or burgers. Good until about day 3!!lol! You can tell I have small children! This place seems great...good location, different sandwiches...right up our alley.

We are going to try the Coral Reef. You can request a table by the fish and we would be willing to wait. We have PS there right at its lunch opening so I think we won't be waiting too long (I hope!)

I am planning to make a fantasmic dinner package for Mama Melrose's when I can. I have heard many positive comments about the place and it sounds like a better selection than the other ones with my kids. My 5 year old loves pasta! Thanks everyone for great advice:D

We LOVED the Plaza....and yes, the tomato soup (bisque, really I think) was outstanding, IMO.

Coral Reef was just ok, way over priced. View was neat though. I do think that lunch is a better choice than dinner, as far as *value* goes.

Mama Melrose is great....we did the Fantasmic package there, but we ate there for LUNCH, not dinner!

Hi folks,

The 2003 edition of the Unofficial Guide does list the Plaza Restaurant, and the review is quite good. I believe the food quality is rated as "excellent."

Sincerely,

Len

We have done both the Brown Derby and Hollywood and Vine as Fantasmic Dinner Packages.

While I preferred Brown Derby, it was just too stuffy for my boys and they are fairly used to fine dining.

Our trip to H&V was quite a surprise. The quality of the food was quite good for a buffet. My DH does not eat beef or pork but there was plenty to pick from.

We are not big fans of buffets and my only criticism is the line gets kind of messy.

Of course, the soft serve and toppings was a big hit for dessert.

The overall atmosphere was much more relaxed and the "getting up to help yourself" was a good stretch your legs exercise for the boys.

The Plaza Restaurant is not attached to the Plaza Pavillion. It's on your right as soon as you make the turn on Main Street. Alas we couldn't eat there this trip as it was closed for refurbishment. I love that reuben too.

I would take children to the Coral Reef if you want to dine there. You can see the tank very well from anywhere in the restaurant. Our children loved it there when they were little...it's almost mesmerizing.
