Did you know anyone famous before they were famous?

Ralph Macchio (the Karate Kid) was in my sister's class in high school. I didn't know him very well, though.

AngieBelle told me that when she was in 8th grade, I think, she was in a local theater production of Annie. The director of that play is now Broadway's "Millie"--Sutton Foster.:):):)

Angie also told me that when she was a little girl living in Burbank, she had a classmate who had a baby sister. She would later become the child film star Mara Wilson, who was in such pictures as A Simple Wish and Matilda.:D

well, y'all know me!!!! I'll be famous soon enough!

Since I'm graduating on Saturday from high school....I'll let ya know in a few years if I knew anyone who is famous before they were famous.;)

my aunt sat next to Tom Seleck on an airplane long before he was Magnum P.I.,
alas... he was only the Stetson Man back then... anyone remember those comercials? Yum my..

My music teacher in middle school later formed a group with her sisters (The Forrester Sisters). They were a big hit in the Country world in the 80's and 90's.:)

Yep, two of my cousins. They're not exactly household names, but they've both achieved great success in their professions.

One of my cousins is the actor, Boyd Gaines (yes, that's his "real" name :) ). He started in television, he played the part of Valerie Bertinelli's dentist husband, Mark, on One Day at A Time. He then moved to theatre, and has won 3 Tony awards....most recently in 2000 for Best Actor in the dance musical, Contact. He's been in L.A. testing for a new TV pilot....I'll keep ya'll posted if he's going to be on the small screen soon!

My other cousin is Executive Producer for all of Nickelodeon's feature films (Rug Rats, Jimmy Neutron, Clockstoppers, Wild Thornberries, etc) ....we love to see her name when they role the credits!

I went to the same parochial grade school and high school as Mike McCoy....who ended up playing football for Notre Dame in college and then the Green Bay Packers in the pro's....he was 3 grades ahead of me...
as a matter of fact, the first Mass i served as an altar boy, Mike also served that Mass...back in those days there were 4 altar boys per Mass...

I hung out at a Penn State music festival with John Waite for a few days in 1972 ....before he got a recording contract....

When I was a baby (long time ago:D ) my brother was best friends with Charlie Watts....the drummer from the Rolling Stones. He apparantly took a liking to me and used to push me in my pram...my brother and his buddies would cross the road and make fun of him (Boys!) pretending he was my mummy! I am told he also helped me potty-train?! Couldn't I die or what?

And...there's more...Remember Peter and Gordon? Singers? Well, I was delivered by Peter Asher's father who was an OBGYN!

And...promise this is it! My uncle was very good friends with Peter Sellers and he was often at their house. I vaguely recall him....not a funny man as I think back...at least not in private. When he was done with his tailor made suits...usually after a wearing or 2!!!...he would hand them down to my uncle. My Aunt still has some of them with Custom made for Peter Sellers inside!

And...I think that's all I have??:D

Briar Rose that's funny, I just saw Ralph Macchio at a Ducks game last week. I had seen him a couple of times before, when he lived in East Islip.

I went to HS with the boxer Buddy McGirt.

Went through most of school with her sisters, but Debbie Gibson was our local girl made good. I remember my little sister coming home from kindergarten telling us that "this girl wrote a song about school". Saw her a lot at mass growing up, and she came to a couple of my sister's b'day parties.

I went to college for technical theatre and stage managed Jim Breuer in three shows...long before those Saturday Night Live days. Several of the actors from our college had fair success, although our biggest two alums are Billy Crystal and Eddie Murphy.

Funny story: There was a gala celebrating the theatre program's 30th year. As I'm still friends with many of my classmates, we all went and had a blast. We wondered if Billy would show up. I happened upon a tall (well over 6') extremely skinny guy who was wearing a name tag that said "Billy Crystal". My comment was "boy, they REALLY do something with makeup with you...I thought you were short!"

I actually played a small part in helping some people become famous. I was a DJ at a radio station in Harrisburg, PA when a local band called "Fuel" sent me their demo. I had gotten to know them from their weekly gig at an area night club which I hosted on behalf of the station. I thought their stuff was great and I passed it on to my boss. We started playing their song "Shimmer", and within 6 months they were signed to Sony and were producing their first CD whch ended up going Platinum.

The only person I knew before they were "famous" is Brian Datillo
he is on DAys Of Our Lives. He was my friend Kristins brother (we all went to High school together) She actually has been on lots of shows also. (Beverly hills 90210,friends,Aerosmith video,Alley Mcbeal, lots of short lived sit coms and other tv shows too many to mention.)

were at Sebago Lake......and in the next summer place was Buffy St. Marie......she was a very nice person then and now....she had a beautiful voice and would play at all the beach parties..she wrote the lyrics and music for Officer and a Gentleman.....she did a few years on Sesame Street with her son.......she and her sister were adopted ......and both from the same tribe.....but right now that escapes me......

I went to high school with John Bongiovi AKA Jon Bon Jovi. My sister went to high school with Greg Evigan...I remember he was in a tv series with a monkey, or something like that. lol

My DH went to high school with Garrett Wang aka Ensign Kim on Star Trek Voyager series.

The only "famous" person I know is Chris Thorn of the band LIVE (started in Blind Melon (Rain)). The band LIVE is from my hometown, but the rest of the members went to another high school He was a year younger than me in high school and was a friend of my brother. He stood beside me in chorus. I was a cheerleader with his wife Heather. He's a really nice, softspoken guy.
