Planning a girls trip and trying to figure out best time in September. I went early September last year and timed that specifically to avoid Food and Wine crowds but definitely want to hit that this time. What were your experiences with mid to late September? We're fine with the heat so that's not a factor for us. Thanks in advance!

We went at the end of September and didn't find the crowds to be bad at all, especially during the week. The weekend at Epcot was crazy though so I'd avoid that, we ended up heading over to HS instead and the crowds were much much better!

In case you didn't know, Food and Wine starts Aug 31 this year, so you could go earlier in September if you wanted to and still experience the festival. It's the earliest it's ever started, so no one knows how it will affect Sept crowds overall.

September is our preferred time to visit. The heat never bothers us, the crowds are manageable and we always get at least one F&W day.

We went the first week of September last year and LOVED IT! Some days it was hot, but we do not mind and we would gladly take the heat over crowds. After Labor Day, the crowds disappeared.. it was awesome. We loved it so much, we decided to go that same week this year. We spent mornings in the parks, came back to the resort around noon and went to the pool and then went back to the parks at night - we did this every day and it worked out great. F&W starts earlier this year, so no matter when you go in September, you won't miss it.

We went at the end of September and the crowds were great throughout the week. The only time it felt overcrowd was on October 1st at the Magic Kingdom (but that was the 45th celebration day). All it all it was a good time to go. The weather was a bit humid for me but we made it work!

I was there the first week of F&W last year and the year before (it was earlier last year than the year before) and it was fine for me but we used to always go in August just before school started and live in Georgia so the heat is no big deal. I'd say go for it but know it is highly possible (like 99%) that you are going to have rain every day. I didn't find the crowds too bad but I don't worry about that kind of thing, I'm sort of a go with the flow type of gal.

I went Labor Day weekend in September 2016 which I assume is around when you went so you know what it was like then.
I went the week after Labor Day in 2012 and it was great.
Still very very hot but definitely rained less than in June/July/August.
I found that crowds were low as well because many kids go back to school right after Labor Day.
Overall I'd go again at that time.

Thank you and 10-4 on the weekends at EPCOT. I've seen the pics lol.

Thank you! Great to know :)

Thanks! We actually were the week after Labor Day. F&W started the day we left. We only had one wash out of an afternoon/evening but had fun splashing around the boardwalk so it was all good :)

Great minds think alike! That's how we did September. I love it being so warm still in the evenings.

September is my favorite time of year to go. We always go the week after Labor day because lower crowds and still warm / sunny temperatures!

We always go first Saturday after Labor Day. All the kids are back in school and crowds are good

Whew, that's awesome to hear! We're going the last week of September. We've never gone in September. I was really sweating (no pun intended about the FL heat) the crowds.

We went Sept 12-18. It was super hot and rained almost every afternoon but overall it was great! We had minimum waits and in the mornings we actually walked on to a lot of rides.

This is the same time we went and had the same experience.

We went the last week in September and had a fantastic trip! We went to two not so scary Halloween parties and also went to an early morning magic at MK. I would highly recommend going in September. While it was hot, the crowds were not bad at all. We would definitely go back in September!
