Did you give a or get a Valentines Day gift?

No, and No. We give to the grandchildren now. DH always bought my dd and me (I gave to all three kids from both of us) flowers/roses and chocolates. After a while, I said no roses but tropical flowers/colorful flowers. Roses don't last long.

A few years ago, I said no more. Not even a card. I would much rather go out for breakfast/lunch or dinner and NOT on Valentine's Day!!

Since I was at work yesterday, DH put a "progressive" gift bag in my car before he went to work. It had a card and then 1 gift/card to open each hour while I was at work. It was fun to try to see what would be next.

I gave him a card, a McDonald's gift card (he loves his sausage mcmuffin for b'fast) and some cheddar popcorn.

We sent a care package with Valentine's Day items to our college age DD a couple of weeks ago, and I wished our DS Happy Valentine's Day on the phone.

DH manages a private club, so as usual, he was at work last night, so no dinner for us.

No and No. I don’t really mind .. neither of us believe its important to recognize the holiday and it doesnt hold any meaning to us. However.. I don’t care until I see all the things other people did and then I end up wondering why we are weird about this stuff. We forget our anniversary too. It’s just us.. the relationship is good. Shrug.
I’ve also been sick all week and feeling a little down so that probably is why it bugged me a bit.

We bought a new slicer/spiralizer attachment for his Kitchen Aid stand mixer a few days ago and decided that would be both of our Valentine's gifts. He can cook with it and I can eat what he cooks.

We came to Chicago for Valentine's Day. That's like our present to each other. But I contacted our friend in Concierge and had him get some flowers for her. They were in our room when we checked in. They also threw in a little box of candy.
