We got married at a Country Club.
We had been up there before, and my friend works there. It is absoultely the most beautiful place and we both knew we wanted to get married there.

We got married on the side of the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. If any of you have seen it (it's been in some movies, and is a tourist spot) its a big dome surrounded by lovely columns and gardens and a small lake. We were supposed to be under the dome, but about a month before the wedding they had to close it off for repairs. Invitations had already been mailed so we were stuck having it there. We scrambled and chose a spot on the little lake there surrounded by the gardens. We got married between two columns and behind us was the backdrop of the dome. It was really beautiful. Only bad part was where the guest were sitting opened up to the parking lot. Oops. We brought in about 15 10' high decorative shrubs to disguise that, and it still looked gorgeous. We had to have my cousin and a couple of his buddies show up during the set up for the wedding a tear down all the bright orange caution tape that was visible from our site (they put it back up right after the ceremony).

First time: under a picnic shelter in a park. It was a nice, simple outdoor wedding and reception. Too bad the groom was an...well...you know.

Second time: Seacoast Wedding Chapel. An event room with a small area set up real nice for a wedding under an archway. This time the groom was a gem.

Not being a religous person, I didn't feel right having it in a church. The first officiant was a judge, the second was a minister but she understood and gave us a civil ceremony. DH wanted to go to the courthouse and have a quickie or at most a wedding on the beach in our shorts. I won that battle and got to wear my full dress! Even got him in a tux!!! He admits now that it was pretty nice.

My wife and I are Jewish. We were married at Twelve Caesars, a catering hall in Philadelphia. In the Jewish religion, it is not necessary to be in a synagogue to get married and people are often married at the hall where the reception is being held.

We got married at my mother's home, but by a minister.

Oh I forgot to add mine was still a religious ceremony even though it was done outdoors. The pastor who performed the ceremony was my youth pastor. We wanted something very personal and very us, so it was nice having the pastor know me so well, and he knew dh through our premarital counseling at the church. We also had some good friends read a Bible verse, and my Grandmother sang the Lord's Prayer just as she did at my parents wedding. :D

We got married at the Sandals Resort in the Bahamas. The ceremony took place at the end of a pier overlooking the ocean.

Got married in my hometown church on the only sunny Saturday that month! It was freezing cold, though!

Got married in a little chapel in Hilton Head, SC. Can't think of anything better than a wedding on the beach.

I love Hilton Head! I bet it was beautiful.

We had our wedding in my parents' backyard. She's a gardner, and it was gorgeous. We rented 2 big tents, and my DH made the platform we got married on. Wheeled in some tables and held the reception in the same spot, and had a great, big party. I guess described this way it sounds a bit random, but it really was lovely.

We got married on the lake on a historic Victorian riverboat. It was an old paddlewheeler. The reception was a three hour nighttime lake cruise complete with buffet, bar and band. It was a great time! An old family friend, a minister, married us.

NativeTXn- one of my friends got married in the chapel of U of H too. It's was a lovely ceremony.

I proposed in the Rose Garden next to the castle at MK, and we were married on the beach in Destin, Florida.
