Did you get a pin at Member Day?

My daughter and I went to Member Day on August 5, mostly to get the special pin. Pin collecting is our major shared hobby, since I don't think my being a dance Mom counts. We got lanyards, but even though I asked every CM in sight, no pins. No one seemed to know what we were talking about. Of course, now I notice on Pinpics that there was a really cool pin given out. (check out Pinpics.com #23602) Did most people get one? Or were yours MIA too?

I got a landyard and a pin but not that one. It was a WDW 2002 anyone could have bought.

The free pins were nothing special or DVC related- they were intended as a "starter" for pin trading (the DVC CM's all wore lanyards loaded with pins to trade).

There was a special DVC pin for sale ($6.95 I think) at the store, but it was not included in the Member Day activities. There was a note about it on the Member's Site.

I was at the first members day celebration and we had to go through hoops to get the pins and laynard but that pin was not one of the pins.They gave us a charecter pin that you could get anywhere.Members day stunk to me but then we did go to the first members day and they did not now what was going on.They had no preparation and it was horrible.

We went on the very last member day (9/2) and these pins were apparently NOT for DVC members, but rather for GUESTS of DVC members. In our checkin packet were two coupons for us to give to guests to come to member day, and when they handed in the coupons at the member day table they got a pin. I specifically asked for one, and she said "Are you a member?" and I said yes and she said the pins are for guests only. Members had to fill out a trivia questionnaire and when they handed it in they got a Member Day lanyard with a generic trading pin.

That pin was given to guests of members brought to member day. You may recall that in the member day package there were "invitations" which you could give to non-members to attend member day. We brought my brother and his wife, who happended to be staying with us, to member day, and they were given the pins to wear to show that they belonged.

With each lanyard we got a generic Disney trading pin. I got a Daisy Duck and my son got a Goofy pin. But, we did tour the SSR models and a CM in one of those rooms gave us each a SSR pin. On the way out we stopped at the BWV store and bought a Members Day pin.

we went aug. 5 to members day ,as soon as it was open to the members and i had brought dsis & her family, df and my family, i handed in one questionnaire and was asked how many were in my party, i replied 8 and then asked if they were all there and i said yes right here, then i was handed 8 lanyards with each one having a genric pin. i asked about the members day pin and was told i would have to purchase it in one of the dvc resorts only on tuesday & would have to ask for the pin, they were not displayed. but my pin that i bought was this one #Pin 23637: DVC - Member Day Pin (Summer 2003) .

we didnt see any characters, raffles going on, just the dance hall was open.when i asked about the BBQ, i was told it was canceled because of the light rain, so we went down to espn and when we came out the whole dvc members day table and everything was gone.

OK, I guess that cool pin was pretty hard to get. It was pouring that day and we stayed at BCV, so I thought maybe the pins were at BWV. WDWstar, I bought a couple of those Member Day pins. They're nice, but not as nice as the dangly one. Oh well, that's one to look for on Ebay. Diana

I bought 2 Member Day pins at the OKW store............they were behind the cashier register counter and it was no problem gettting them....

I will have to look to see if they have special numbers on the backs of them..............They are on my DD's lanyard along with some pins the dvcreg gave them when we met her at Member BBQ (which was cancelled!!)............

Dancind thanks for the heads up on the members pin, i didnt know dvc had several to buy, i should have known better, i will keep an eye out for the dangling members pin.

Ebay might eventually ahev what you are looking for. When we wnet we got lanyards, each of us with a different pin. They weren't DVC pins. One was Fantasia, another from Hunchback, etc. They had given a lanyard to my kids, too.
I also got a BCv pin inside the model tour.
Funny, cause I ahd just bougt one of ebay....
I was trying to have an ornamnet for every year we took a Disne trip and at which resorts, but once I realized I wasn't going to have any luck on ebay with soem past trips I agve up and decided to just collect pinc for the resorst we stayed at. Oh well!

lenshanem i like that idea about the ornament from each resort that ou stayed at, except i am way behind the only resorts that we have not stayed at id the GF & yc and if you want to count S&D, and im not sure if we will ever stay at the S&D now that we have been dvc members.

wdwstar, the bad thing is you can find all the resort ornmanets at the christmas shop inside MK, BUT they are dated!!!

lenshanem dated wouldnt be bad if i can remember, which resort in which year we were there. maybe i will just check out the christmas store in DTD next time, and see if i can find non dated ones, or at least our home resort . thanks

wdwstar, no, the dates were for the current year so liek if I was trying to find Wl from back in the 90s I wodul be out of luck. Liek now they wodul all say 2003.

lenshanem whooops, i understand what your saying, then that wouldnt work for me, if they are all dated with the current year, i guess off to ebay then and check out what they have, but i think i did that once and i didnt find to much. maybe i will just check out DTD christmas store when im there in april. actually i remember when i was there this past feb. DTD christmas store did have someone writing names,dates on ornaments for people, for a fee.

All four of us got pins. The one is a little girl who is dressed similar to Madeline, except in pink and has a ball. We have no clue what this could be related to (France, Beach Club???) Does anyone who is really into pintrading know what this could be? I assume it was something discontinued. Natt

wdwstar, yes, you are right. DTD chrsitmas shop does have ornaments you can get perosnalized. I don't know if they do thsi too at the MK christmas shop? Once whiel at DTD we asked about the ornamenst, but it wouln't be ready until after we had left. So I'd go early in your trip.
The ornaments I was collecting was by Barlow. They have one for I believ each resort and the current date stamped on it. They are in a box. I have looked before on ebay for these wth no luck.
I aslo tried the Barlow website.
